Hi all,
I did some research, but couldn't find any info about this. I was told that the ep (not ep3, but ep1) calipers fit p&p instead the ek4 calipers. (since my ek3 has the same as the ek4) Do they really have an advantage over the oem 6gen calipers? Did anyone hear anything about this?

Not sure about ep callipers but if you are staying 4 stud a set of mb6 callipers is a good upgrade.

But mb6 uses 282 discs afaik. Wednesday I will install these calipers, we will see what happens :)

Thats why its a good upgrade but yes you will need new discs too. If you don't want to upgrade your brakes why are you doing this?

The piston in the old caliper is stock. I needed new ones, and I got the info that ep calipers should be better. Cheaper than Upgrading everything, not to mention my winter tyres are 14". 282 brakes wouldn't fit under those. So instead spending hundreds of pounds, it costs me only 57.

I would just replace them with new VTi ones. IIRC the EP calipers sit on the back of the hub so the bleeders would be upside down.

That's right, the guy said I need to place the bleeders facing upside down. But also said, I can bolt on the new calipers without any problem. Will see tomorrow. I heard some using this in rally, because braking increases without increasing the disc size. I'm looking forward to this, will post pics and a short comment.

The piston sizes on the EP2 are the same as the EK4, they won't make any difference, they'll just be harder to bleed.

Honestly, for simplicity I would just stick with VTi brakes.

Well it's no difference now, I got the calipers. Pistons looked a bit larger to me, but I will measure them once they are off. VTi brakes would have been an easier choice, but I was looking into an upgrade, with staying the size. See things tomorrow.

I checked out the sizes in some online brake catalogues and the EP2 and EK4 both came in with 54mm pistons.

Bigger pistons aren't an upgrade anyway. They feel like it, but it's not that simple.

It's fitted. Well it feels weird. Spongy. Maybe, I have to bleed it again? Or can it be the mc? Is ek4 and ek3 has the same mc?

deal with this!

yeah my mate's civic jordan got ep3 brakes done. the clearance is unreal. it's kissing distance!

i have that clearance on my 300mm brakes with a 15mm spacer on 15's even had to change position of wheel weights now thats dedication to stay 15" haha

To the op why didnt you just buy a rebuild kit for your own calipers if the piston size is the same as what you had to buy its not that hard to rebuild them

Well I was told this is better and bigger, and I was curious. And it was nearly at the price of the rebuild kit. about 50 pounds for the calipers and the pads. Here's a picture:

After bleeding, and testing I can say no doubt about being better. You definitely feel the difference. I can't really tell, the pedal feel is more firm, you can just simply apply more power without locking up. Too bad the pads are not some fast road type. By spring I hope I can do a 282/262 f-r setup with crazy ass pads, and hunt something more powerful than an fn2 on track :D
