once again, are these gimmick or do they contribute to the cars performance.

I have heard that guys on DC2 said that it reduced wheel hopping, puts the power down to the wheels better, makes gear change smoother?

and some says it didn't make a difference.

any specific experience on the EK9?

thanks

wow, we've had a few threads on these but still nobody tried it? i too want to know, i think it should work though, if you think about it the engine rocks back under acceleration which causes wheel hop, the tq damper slows this rocking so it may reduce hop...

I did a surface search and yeah doesn't seem to be anything on it atm.

I'm sure someone must have one on their 9.

The only problem is that, where does the energy go?
the engine energy will be transferred to the chassis of the car? as it is linked by that damper? so that can't be too good for other parts?

so thats why I am not too sure about it, and it is a pricey lil device as well....

the energy goes into the damper, it requires a lot of energy to move the damper quickly so it all gets absorbed by that.

i have one on my rx....used with uprated engine mounts

and how did you like it, come on bro give us a little review :nerv:

hey blinx,i dunno really what difference it makes...i use it with uprated engine mounts and seems to work well, acceleration on mine is slightly better than on my mates ek9 but his has very few mods compared:)

iam awaiting for over 2 months now for my uprated mounts + this Spoon torque damper! Post over here sucks... :(

hoefully will post when i recieve / fit it. its said to absorb ehgine vibration :blabla:

I've got the SPOON damper on and ofcourse it works

It acts as another engine mount damper which reduces the vibrations at high rpms and gear changes. It's worth it but has to be installed tightly. Last time I did it too tight and I can feel the vibration in the cabin on idle... :D
