hows thing lads, i know this isn the rite forum to be asking this but im sure there is some one who knows, what parts would you need to purchase if u wanted to carry out an engine rebuild on an evo 4 and roughly how much would parts cost? if any one could help would be great????
 
you rebuilding entire engine?? if so..

full gasket sets for head and bottom end...( including valve stem seals, crank seals ,headgasket etc)
bottom end bearings ( all bearings)
piston rings
new head studs/bolts
oil pump
water pump
timing belt etc


thats a rough list, i'm sure theres few more little bits lads will think of.
not all of the above are essential but this is what i doing with my rebuild.

alrite ok, yeah very helpful as i didn have a notion on what id need, thinkin of gettin an evo 4 at the moment and wud be one of the first things id get done on it as i hear wen the mileage builds up they tend to blow, i think it wud be wise to get done first rather than waiting on it to go as it could do more damage if it went itself
 
yeah thinkin that myself now actually **** give her beans till s***** hahah jus wana know what id need if she went though
 
As above if its not broken then why go rebuilding it. And if engine does go don't rebuild the 4 engine instead get a engine from evo 5or5 as they don't suffer from crank walk like the 4's did.
 
yeah ive heard of lads droppin them into them too, wud it cost much to pick one of them up????
 
as the lads said not broke dont fix it, if it makes you happier maybe send it in somewhere for an inspection...get compression tested etc etc
