Alright people have a few problems with my 2000 EK9 and hoping you can help.

When you first start it up from cold it idles at 1500rpm but it stays at 1500rpm even when warmed up unless you blip the throttle then it idles at 700-900rpm. Also once its warmed up, when your sitting still and try to hold the revs it bounces from the rev your at back to 1000rpm then back to the rev you were holding it at and keeps doing it. Say i try hold the revs at 3000 without moving my foot it will constantly bounce from 3000 and 1000.

Any body have any idea's?

It has a full Spoon exhaust system and also a Spoon ECU fitted and AEM cold air intake.

had this problem with an ep3 after it was sat for 3 weeks, was the cold start idle controll valve thing(cant think of its proper name lol) it was a bit sticky but sorted it self out after a long drive, it may be the same thing, may be in need of a clean out?

I bet you've knocked the vacuum hose off the back of the intake manifold.

Hi please post up the solution to this one:nice:
Hope you get it sorted soon, Dunx

is the engine physically revving up or is it just the tacho-needle going up and down?

Symptoms sound like what is commonly known as engine rev hunting...

Could be an off in the ignition timing and throttle idle position.

The engine is physically evving up and down not just the rev counte moving. Does anyone know what to do?

Does anybody else know the name of this, and also where it is located?

its on the inlet manifold.

I had the same thing happen on my old EJ9 civic.
I unbolted the T/B and cleaned out the idel air control valve with break cleaner and just cleaned all the other sensors while i was at it.
This sorted the problem out.
Its normally the case when your car miss's a routeen service and the carb gets dirty from oil vapours and dirt from the Airfilter.

Give it a clean out and it should be fine mate.

James.
