Ek9 vs cilo 172 cup version

Which is faster in a drag? Around corners overall? My
m8s got the cilo and we had a drag race I was beating him till 3rd gear then I I lost time because I always seem to get a 3rd gear crunch but if it wasn't for
that I reakon I would of won. So who can say they have gone againest
one and tell me the outcome?
 
Who cares of it's faster?!?!?! Youhave an ek9 that should be good enough!
 
Tough one - seen a video of a 172 against an ek9 and it wasnt pretty !

Clio is a lighter car with more torque + 400cc more

If you done well against it i'd be happy with results. EK9's arent built for dragging.

My old EK4 with B18C6 sh@t all over clio 172's 182's
 
have owned both . both deliver power differently . the cup will have more body roll in the corners . the 9 is a nicer place to be . renault still have to take a 2L engine to produce similar power .
 
Yeah I know I love my 9 an that's what I was thinking 2l againest 1.6 plus a tad lighter. We had another drag pass 3rd gear and he couldn't over take until I hit the litmit but I couldn't overtake him as well so there's nothing in it! Just need to sort out 3rd gear!

Yeep, completely woop them in mine to now.

When it was B16B i still used to have slight edge up to 120MPH, close though. Never raced one around a track so cant compare cornering but they do handle really well.
 
Whats the difference between your b18c ek9dan and my standard b16b just the 1.8 intergra engine?
 
I know it's another which is faster I knew I'd get this I just want the edge over him tho cuz we always argue which is better and I just wana shut him up! Need a turbo lol ohh dc2 an engine conversion for an extra 10bhp? Am I getting this right?
 
What i tend to find is that i can quite easily go past a clio that is doing 65 when i'm doing 70, therefore mine is faster.

These threads are pointless, prove it at santa pod and prove it on a track. Tbh i love my 9 and wouldn't want a clio so for me there is only one winner!
 
On torquestats there is 0.1 seconds between the two over 1/4 of a mile, so if the Clio hit a couple nats and a butterfly over that distance it would be as slow as an EK9.

The EK9 counterpart of the Cup is the N1 which doesn't seem to be one used on torquestats as they quote the weight as 1090 KG which is what the heaviest EK9 model weighs, not the lightest. So, in fact, the EK9 should be faster. WOOOHOOO!
 
That was funny I can't stop laughing but if I say that there's bound to be a fight and he's my best m8 lol u do have a point
tho hopefully I dnt hit any butterflys let alone 3rd gear crunch!

Pipe down only asking no need to get your knickers in a twist, it was only a question about performance I'm sure there's loads of races u see on top gear which are fun to watch! Just wanted to find out some info!
 
Top gear? Your patter is terrible. You asked a question to which you could easily find the answer instead of asking a forum.

i have often wondered this question too as one of my friends has a 182! i've never had the privilege to see him out and about in it but reading this, maybe as well! :)
 
How? It's not on top gear that was an example of other cars because I've never seen an ek9 vs a cilo battle on there so I thought putting into the forum might help my answer but people like yourself always get in the way and try and destroy them it was a question and your not helping out here.

Ek9 is faster than 172. Always beat my mates. Not by much, but it is.
