EK9 Racecar

Also this went from decent daily to track slag very quickly!
Props.
I know! Some people will hate, but after my track day I'm hooked!
She's not my daily driver so I'm making her a full on track / race car.

Started to fit the cage today,
Got all the reinforcing plates welded in and painted, and fitted the rear cage and sealed it up.
Just need to bolt the front cage in tomorrow.

Had a hold up because we needed some parts. Seems they may be lost in the post or just late.
I'm beginning to want the car back tbh lol

Oh no! Nightmare.
Nothing worse than parts in limbo

I finished fitting my cage today, pictures to follow later on.
The car feels a lot more ridged and seems better around the bends.
Track time will tell though.

I fitted my new discs and pads too and did an oil change.

My brother also got me a carbon plug cover! Love it and him!

And this is my birthday card my dad gave me. Pretty cool I think!

Need to get an Mot next, might take the car to work tomorrow and slap a ticket on it.

Your dads a proper lad!

My parts turned up btw lol

Yeah I can run it how it is bar mapping for japfest.
What state of racecar it will be in at japfest I'm not sure lol

As long as you mate it that's the main thing :nice:

Been watching quietly, good work dude! And happy birthday :nice:

Fitted a toggle switch horn cause of the new steering wheel, and sorted out the rear fog for the Mot.
Got some 582 red led bulbs coming.
I've converted the OS reverse light to be the fog light.

Although when I got home I notice the rear side lights have stopped working!
There was some strange wiring going on that someone else has done before.
Will fix it tomorrow.

Some pictures of the cage.

Still got the plastic on the door bars, will get some padding soon.

Knocked up some anti rattle pads for the door mechanism too, seems to have done the trick! No rattles now.

Turning into a proper build now, you can't go far wrong with a well built track ek9!

Keep it up

She's getting there!
Looking forward to some more track time soon.

Found the fault, was just the side light fuse!
