Ek9 n1 race my car

There are two ex-ATCC one make cars in New Zealand at the moment, both of them EK9s, and both have 4x100 hub swaps. Why? It's called rotating mass... They also run EK4 exterior panels and doors to keep costs as low as possible, while having the chassis rigidity advantages of the EK9. The roll cage looks very similar to one I drove here in New Zealand, with bolts and welds, mass produced for the series.

And wheels in 4x100 are ridiculously easy to come by, try finding Regamasters in 5x114 these days, it's getting difficult...

The ATCC cars also have to run standard intake manifolds and airboxes (no ITB), and fuel mods are regulated very closely, hence the standard intake and fuel delivery. The tune may have the injectors maxing out, or for longer duration, who knows? I would have thought a car running that kind of power would have a better breather setup though, but there maybe things going on inside the engine that we can't see.

Going by the video it's a quick car, he drives it like he stole it, and gets a lot of enjoyment out of it, so let the guy have his fun, appreciate what he's doing, and put the flamethrowers away, would you guys?

If I ever make it to Thailand I'll come and look you up dude, would like to take a look at the car in person!

Proper race car, love it! You must have alot of fun building and racing it :)

Two question for the driver and you (as seems you know about the ATCC)

Is the chassis re-welded or has just the cage installed on it?

Also, on ATCC, where they restricted to use the same suspension setup such as camber, coilover's brand etc? I'd definetly kill to know what kind of suspension brand and setup did the civics run on the 90's Hotel Fortuna and ATCC in general.

And just to finish, does the famous ek9 video at macau run the same spec as those cars?

I'm writing all those questions on here and not on a pm because it seems to me that this guy's car has almost the same setup as they had on the ATCC.

Now I find your thread. Very nice racecar I must say. And the Bira circuit is familiar sight. Some of my F3 racecar driver friends raced there. Incidentally they are also touring car drivers here in the Phils.

I will try to answer some questions with my limited knowledge. hehehe

ATCC racecars are fully built from ground up, i.e. seem weld, roll cage, aligned and reinforced shell and etc.

ATCC suspension set up I think is "open"
Buddyclub is very active in the ATCC.

The EK9 macau video I suspect could either be an N1 or fully built "open" class depends on which race it raced on. CTM or ATCC.

The Phil. touring car follow the ATCC N1(with some revison) spec so I guess thier cars and our cars are very similar. We do race each other on occasions. hehehehe

To EK9_N1 : you have very nice racecar!! Thank you for sharing!!

you must be a good driver hey?? hehehehe I think you are.

OMG the half of you in this thread you don't believe him if his car is B20 and the other half if it is tuned by spoon! If you see the video with the warm up with the clearest engine sound of his car you will notice the not speedy rev engine but you see it has a lot of torque thats B20VTEC and if you pay good Mr.Spoon enough money he could made it even 2200cc or 1600cc revving to 13000rpm(prototype project with cbr pistons). One friend of mine has one b20 block darton sleeves b16a head custom forged rods pistons high compresion if i remember 13,5:1 and Z-speed 3rd stage cams skunk2 valvetrain(stay away from skunk2 retainers but memories of my friend 3 times broke the retainers) , 4x550cc fuel injectors and make 230whp on the dyno.Nice build mate and i love the color :p
