Ok,

as im at the point of nearly handing some cash over to buy an EK9 i thought id check the insurance quotes.

so i thought i'd go to the recomended insurance company Sky to get a quote now while i know i could be too specific about the cars details as i personally didn't know but i opted to keep the car standard for the perpuse of the quote.

just to give you an idea where i am and about me as i would like people to let me know how much they are paying and where in the country they are.

ok Male 27 based in leicester le19 post code currently 9years ncb one conviction for speeding and a fine 3 points and £60 two years ago car based at £7k with 15,000 miles including work miles of 6k

Sky just quoted me £811 with £350 ex

know for give me but i thought this was very expensive so please help me.

Try taking your work miles off and reducing your annual millage. Remember the ek9 is a group 20 insurance, so unless you are 50+ i doubt you will get cheap quotes for it.

you may find the work milage adds alot on. i was paying for about 2k worth of multiple places of work etc rather than the usual commute and it was costing me about another £300 a year.

They never asked me if i'd had quick cars before to which i told the lady on the phone that when i was 24 i was running around in a ST205 GT4 which was a jap import group 20 e the car i told them that i did the same mileage as above and get this get quoted £600 fully comp on a modified car with 300bhp and get this no alarm was needed!

so i thought £800 plus was expensive!

so any help would be appreciated.

theres alot to be said for being "to honest" towards the insurance company!

I got quoted £1450 with a £400 excess, 4 years driving 2 years ncb!

I aint dared get quotes yet.

I have PMd Sky but not had a response.

I am 25, 5 years NCB, nice area, work in IT

iv been quoted 1365 for a 97 and 1635 for 00 plate. im 20 3years ncb 3 years driving. 3 points for an sp30 and a no claim accident (some old knob reversed into me). admiral are quite decent.

boys give BELL a try,
Trust me,

and by adding my mom and dad to the policy brought it down a serrious amount,

Before we go into this again gents, Bell is part of EUI which consiquently run Admiral and Elephant.

The car that they have on there website page isnt a VTI-R, they dont even have it on there data base, all they have is the White JDM CTR EP 3 which is moderatley cheaper to insure than the 9.

Bell, Admiral and Elephant are more crooked than the F*ckers that drive aroundf without insurance that puts it up in the first place!

Bypass!

The car i used to get my quote was a 1999-VTEC-R (import) Im guessing/Hopeing that = ek9 ????????????????????

??????????

how are bell admiral and elephant croocked? your post doesnt exactly make sense, i've got quotes for a vtec r as well....thats what it is, vtec type r...i insured my old uk teg with elephant and it was down as a integra-r, so no difference:p

there has been extensive discussions about elephant etc... to me, a company should know what car it is before issuing insurance. i personally would not get insurance from elephant for an ek9.
imo of course

This is the same quote i have had.

A 1997 Vtec R Import.

i Phoned them up (BELL) as i am with them at the moment and they know what it is.
