My discs and pads are coming to the end of their life on my 9. been looking at previous threads and determined ferodo pads seem to be a good quality well priced pad, but cant seem to find a supplier offering ek9 fitment? any ideas?

also what discs should I use.

On ebay there seems to be a good buy af ebc discs and redstuff pads for £230ish but some reveiws advise against ebc?

My car is a daily driver, dont track it, but would like some decent every day brakes, as an upgrade to OEM

Any ideas would be appriciated, also dont want to spend the earth!! cheers

I've been using EBC brakes, and personnaly I find them to be very good, compared to mintex and oem brake pads that I've used.

If you are looking for a good everyday pad, then I think EBC green should be good enough.
But I personally prefer EBC red, although they are not very good when cold, they provide the needed bite when heated up and during spirited driving.

u can get a full set of discs and pads all round from honda for around £250 ish i jus replaced all mine and cost me jus under 240 i think

Ok thanks.

Think il give the ebc discs n redstuff pads ago seeing as it is the same price. although I find my OEM ones ok they dont feel great under hard braking.

i would just go to honda and get oem brakes.
ebc seem to get mixed reviews where as you cant find a bad thing to say about honda oem equipment.

if it's not broke dont try and fix it:nice:

I have to say that OEM pads are made to be quiet and low dust, they are not made for track or heavy street braking. So if you never drive your ek9 really hard on back roads or the track, then honda pads are fine.

Matandy22 I recommend you use OEM or OEM equivalent discs like brembo blanks, and a more track worthy pad like hawk HP+, since you don't like OEM pads under hard braking.

My plan is OEM discs all round and HAWK HP + up front and HAWK HPS at the rear.

Got prices yesterday for the front discs from Honda and they were about £55 + VAT from memory.

Are BREMBO blanks just as good and do they cost more or less than OEM discs? Think that would be the deciding factor for me.

Fresh OEM discs/pads with new Castrol Response fluid would be sufficent...

EBC generally have poor reviews...I wouldnt be tempted personally, especially when they are so "Cheap".:nono: You only get what you pay for with braking components.

If you are certain you want aftermarket brakes have a look at the plain disc AP Dixcel setups...

From my experience they were just as good as OEM, maybe not as nicely finished but nothing serious. And they were less than half the price of OEM, but I don't know what's available to you.

Good to know.

Just need to find someone that stocks them now.

Anyone?

ebc discs are rubbish, pads aint much better! avoid!

Got EBC blanks and DS2500 at the minute, will be switching to OEM shortly.

Ferodo's are too dusty.

have you tried ringing around the motor factors local to you?

one of my local factors used to stock them, they may still do.

ebc redstuff are not to bad. I know a few people who use them on stock disc with no problems what so ever. 1 in particular uses it round the ring and its stops very very well. Definitly be a combo i try out in the future.

Do none of you guys use VTTR?

Anytime I've asked in the past about Honda pads they were recommended to me!
