ek9 b16a worth in ireland


why not a b16b ? i wouldnt pat more than 2500 with the b16a its basically a gloryfied vti
 
Its like buying anything depends on condition, and what you are willing to pay.
 
What's the spec?

Other than it being an EK9 shell, its pretty much the same as any other EK out on the road.
 
from experince it will be faster than an EK9 with a b16b installed :p

Why are some sirs faster than ek9s I know yours is killing 9s but surely the point of the9 is to be faster which is why they are more expensive

This is true. Why would Honda release the B16B if it can be beat so easily.

My friend has a B16A in his EG coupe. It pretty much beats most Type R's but the B18C.
 
To the OP its gonna put off a lot of buyers due to the fact it hasnt got its original engine obviously but the question is stupid and this thread is pointless unless your gonna post up extensive pictures of the car so we can at least get some sort of an idea of the condition of the car. year milage etc are also big factors as facelift models make more money. A very clean facelift ek9 will still make €4500 or there abouts but a rough 9 with a b16a engine would probably struggle to make €2500 imo.

And whats with people always claiming b16a's are faster than b16b's... why does everyone fit ek9 cams and valve train to their b16a's then? just coz someone owns a well modified sir doesnt make b16a's a faster engine than the b16b! or mayb the b16a in question was looked after far better than the b16b in question afterall most these engines have at least 60k on them and are over 15 years old. The b16b put out more power than the b16a due to the slight changes that were made so to say that the b16a is typically faster is just stupid!

It's all in quality mods and knowing how to drive.... Give Leigh Moore a sohc and he wud still be worrying ek9's :lol:

at the end of the day a B16B should always be a better engine.....you are the only B16B powered civic that is likely to pass me up around here....but then again your engine has got lots of things that are better than my standard B16A (pistons/cams/remap on chrome/inlet manifold/much higher rev limit etc).

and in fairness i have only raced a handful of EK9's and there are plenty fast ones out there just like there are fast B16a's......
 
would love to b16b or b18 my ek3 iv been told its easier than an ej9 to convert anyone know if this is true ?
 
It all depends on who is looking for one and what they want in it.. Still boys nice to have a 9 with a b16b :p only one past me was lee and I hope that doesn't stay like that for long :D lol

ek9 with a b16a more than likely has seen hardship,why else would u downgrade from the b16a maybe for turbo but cant see it the way this thread is going!
put it on donedeal! or get enough posts to put up a for sale thread!
 
I just swapped out an a2 for a b...ecu was sir on the b16a2...and a pct on the b.

It pulls harder in vtec. Its noticable.

Other than that the engines feel very similar as you would expect!!!
 
I was suggesting it will likely be a good car in its own right.Value should be between ek4 and ek9!
