I'm not sure what I want to be my first car. I'm thinking of an eg or ek. I know this is pretty weird to post this in a "ek" forum. But I want to know the all in all best car. Personally I think eg's are quicker but uglier. As for ek's I thinker their sexier but slower. Let me know what you guys/girls/what not think. :thanks:

EG ´s are lighter than EK , but with some diet we can solve that...EK chassis are far better that EG´s ones..EK´s are an evoltution...

what do you mean posting eg vs ek ?
because it depands what kind of it you want to buy - for example eg5, eg6 or ek4, ek9 ?
if you compare eg4 to ej9 so there's slight difference but nothing really special...

I wouldn't say the EK chassis is far better - the EG chassis is very similar to the DC2 and they are quicker due to their weight/design

If you think EG's are ugly (I don't!) then you would be better in an EK! A marginally faster car is not better than having a car you love the look of in my opinion

I would like to hear these differences

very similar to DC2 ? if you refer to compatibility when it comes to suspension I agree - but what do you think about body rigidity ? do you think eg is similar to DC2 :naughty:

I would like to hear these differences
between eg4 and ej9 for example ?
for sure it's more muted interior in EK, no cracks in the interior...

Hi

The Integra design was based on the EG chassis - not only does the suspension interchange but so do the hubs, gear linkages, front seats, subframe, steering rack, arb's, etc.

No the EG is not a type r chassis and nor was it seam welded etc - however with a few tweaks it can make a very good handling car

A car is what you make it and how much money/time you have to do it.

Buy the one you like the look of.

Besides as it has been mentioned. What model EG's and EK's are you talking about as there are quite few differences.

Chassis differences has been covered a few times before. Do some searching.

In my opinion End of the day when wee are dealing with 15-20 year old chassis every car in the world will be different depending on how it has been treated and what it has been used like throughout its life.

Dumbest comment i've seen on this forum so far.

Lol you have been on the forum only a few months?.

And to be fair he is right in a way.

EG chassis is generaly lighter but once stripped the difference is minimal.

The EK chassis IS an evolution on the EG. If it wasn't surely they would still be making EG's role out of the Honda factory.

What do you mean by the EG is generally lighter but once stripped the diff is minimal? I know it's not the best of sources but parkers guide has EG as 200kg lighter than the EK's although the Hawaii is somewhat ligher

UK EG6 vti. 1040kg with no air bags or A/C . Jdm EG6 with no airbags, a/c or abs but with gathers speakers approx 1040kg, thats what mine was when I got it weighed. Eg6 with all the extras is approx 1080-1100kg I think.
EK9 is 1070kg. Ek4 is 1120kg with airbags, a/c, abs and usually a sunroof.

Take all the extra off that the EK chassis usualy has and the difference will only be 10-20kg. Depending on how far you went. Forget quoted weights for cars that dont have a b series in.

IMHO the best car between the two, is that you like most!
In both, there is room for improvement, ek have better chassis, eg is a bit lighter.
It makes no sense to buy a car you don't like just because it is lighter or faster, take the one you like most and enjoy it! ;)

This kinda is a fail thread as it really all depends on user preference

yep only a few months but that was by far the dumbest **** i've read yet, new to the forum doesn't make me new to the game.

newer doesn't make it "far better"

I think when you strip both EG's and EK's the EG is still lighter :D

But anyway: EG is lighter, but less sports-orientated than an EK. specially EK9 which is a pretty good base-car for racing mods.

Anyway if you plan to spend a huge pile of money on your car i think you can get more from an EG than from an EK, because, yeah it's lighter. and if you replace engine, suspension and anything except the shell anyway this is a better option. if you only plan to do some minor tweaks i think you should buy an EK. you can get more with less work when it comes to simple stuff like a few bolt-ons.
Also EK's are newer so usually less problems with rust, damages, or worn out stuff ;-)

Also i think you're talking about EK4/9 and EG6 hatchbacks or something - not a delsol EG2 or an EG9 sedan :D

so we definitly need to know what you're plans are before anyone can say this car is better then that one!
