Once the ek is on the road me n the other half are heading down to edinburgh offer a weekend break,

So where to stay with a safe car park that's close to town? Last time we stayed at the malmasion (sp) at leith walk, it was average for the cost n bit far away,

What to do while down there? Places to eat ect...

Cheers dudes Ross

Maybe try and find a bed & breakfast with private parking?

roads in Edinburgh are horrendous. Glasgow's the real capital

I'll admit I prefer Glasgow for things to do at night, nanakusa is a top place to eat in Glasgow.

Everyone in Edinburg seems to eat at that new doughnut place off the bypass.

haha to be fair, I've not actually been on a proper night out in Edinburgh to compare but I've been flat hunting in a few of the areas, and after being in a few properties, I kinda appreciate Glasgow a bit more lol. I'm sure there's plenty of places to eat in Edin, usual places like Princes Street/ Haymarket and probably finish the night at Ocean Terminal for cinema? Think there's like a casino/ bowling at Fountain park?

Like I said though, the roads are horrendous lol

Ok ally sell me glasgow then... Places to stay ect? I'd go further south as I drive for a living but she hates sitting in cars

lol this is where I shoot myself in the feet, I've not been out in Glasgow in a long while. Night life would be the same I guess, Sauchiehall street should be full of life during the weekend. Westend should be good too (byres road & great western road), Ashton lane is always hyped up place so I can suggest you to go there to see what the fuss is lol, basically fancy places to eat/ drink.

During the day you could go visit the new transport museum which is now by Glasgow Harbour I believe. Science Museum should be a good shout too!

While you are the west end you can visit botanic gardens if you like grass lol. Not much else I can think of at the moment, but it's mainly the city centre and the west end really.. If you're into the football you can visit celtic park or ibrox, whatever your preference.

Places to stay, there's quite a few places, novohotel, hilton, premier inns, holiday inns all in very central areas, depends on your budget. In regards to places to park... If hotel supplies a car park service then go for that. I wouldn't say everywhere would be safe as there are always cars being stolen lately :(

Hope this helps lol

I was up there the other week, stayed at Twelve Picardy Place. Nice place, great location. Seemed to be parking outside but I didn't have a car.

My fiancee is the manager in a nice hotel in Glasgow centre, could maybe get you a nice deal if you decide Glasgow :D
