I'm putting a B16a2 into my ek9, and was going to run the B16a2 ecu which came with the engine but am I right in thinking the engine won't start as I don't have the key from the car it came from and it's coded to the key?

Is there any way around this if what I'm thinking right?

If they are both obd2 then you can swap the immobilisers in the ecu. If the b16a is obd1 then there is no immobiliser.

I have a b16 ECU with out a immobiliser that you can have to get you up and running .Pm me

Not following you here.... Theirs immoliser in the b16a2 ecu, corect? But i dont have an ek9
Ecu any more.

Cheers for the offer Hondacivic, is there no immobiliser delete you can buy or an ecu that can run the b16a2 fine without one?

Just get a jdm b16A ecu from a civic/crx del sol siR

Don't get a JDM p30 as it will look for a knock sensor and engine management light will stay on

You need uk p30 ECU and you won't have any problem

Ah ha, good point! Although it is fairly easy to add a knock sensor if needs be

Edit: from memory I think the ek9 loom will already have the knock sensor wire
