Does kswap destroy handling of ek9?

As title.

The standard ek9 handles pretty well, and is really chuck able on the a/b roads

My question does a kswap alter this balance, and negatively effect the fun characteristics this car has from stock?

Comments from people having gone for ekk1 and ekk2 mount options welcomed...

The ek9 handles better than pretty well standard lol. The ekk1 mounts are useless they put the engine to low and the driveshafts at a bad angle. Apparently the k20 is slighty lighter than a b series engine. I have a k24 and a fast road/track set up and meister R nitron coilovers and mine handles amazing

Just corner balance the car after the install. Non-Issue!
Another idea would be to move the battery to the rear of the car.

Or do absolutely nothing and enjoy the added power, torque and better ignition system.
You would be hard pressed to feel any difference in performance with the slight change to the weight.

I had one in a my car with the EG/DC subframe... It handled awesome. Couldn't tell a difference.

if im going swap itll be b16b nails engine great bhp without the spinning up of wheels if traction is lost my b16a2 is pokey and is easy around corners but will spin up if caught dodgily exiting a corner so k20 id image go straight towards the curb but thats just speculation i know their lsd and box are pretty epic so maybe thats the trick ?

If you had your foot planted to the floor coming out a corner it could understeer but as with anything a bit of throttle control and it would be fine

The trick is to control the power and not just plant your foot to the floor,
You feed the power on.
As with most high performance cars you don't just put your foot flat and hope it works. :nono:

Lol why would you blame oversteer on an engine?!

You can floor a K20 out of a corner just fine, provided your chassis is set up correctly!

my ek9 feels even more balanced now than before ... and im using EKK1

umm anyone had done the k20a swap on a ek4 4 door? any opinions?
thinking of doinq the transplant by years end. currently running a lightly modded b16b, tein flex coilovers, and stock bushings (still). also will be switching to a 5lug setup with nsx calipers on front.
thanks and cheers.

^^ should be no different on the four door

the suspension geometry does not change when doing the swap, and i think the centre of gravity should be a bit lower with the k20a as well

what put me off was the shitty ground clearance and that a b-series just looks and feels so much better in the bay

get a b18c and a 98spec final drive and you are set up

k is a bit overrated imo

^^ the added torque makes the K swap for me well worth it.
Feeling the torque settle the car down after rotating into a corner is amazing.
So for me it is a better handling addition.

And the price-difference isn't that big if you like at not the most expensive parts; you still get a B16b or B18c in return which you can sell.

to me its just not worth the hassle, and if you go b18c you can always sell the b16b as well

to each his own, i guess

where in the netherlands are you from by the way?

Yes that's certainly true, it's a lot more hassle. The difference between the B18C and B16b is not as big though. So it's certainly a matter of personal opinion and taste :) My dream is to put a k24 block with K20A head in a Type R :p

I live near Zwolle.
