hi lads , Im thinking of buying eibach pro kit springs for my ej9 and lowering it about 25mm. would i need to upgrade any other suspension components at the same time? or is the stock dampers and shocks ok?
thanks

There are many opinions as to what is right and wrong, what one should do and should not.

Working from what I know and have done in the past, eibach pro kits will work well with the EK9 oem shocks.

pretty sure the eibach springs lower more than 25mm, the front will probably be slightly lower than the back also.

...and they tend to "settle" over time so dont freak out if they do not lower the car right off the bat. They will eventually look proper after some driving and time loaded up.

ok thanks, just a lad told me otherwise..
What did he tell you? Theoretically a given springrate has an ideal matching damper with damping characteristics. Lots of people say they improve their car using springs alone. Personally I am skeptical about this concerning Type R's as Honda has done huge efforts to tune everything to match. I don't have numbers to say the springs make it worse, manufacturers don't have numbers to back up any suggested improvements. But with an EJ9 I can imagine chances on improvement are bigger as I can imagine that margins in matching dampers to springs will be bigger for daily non-Type R's.

Sounds like you almost dont know what you are talking about.

noob question but can you not chose how low you want to go? the max eibachs go is between 35 - 40mmm but can you not just lower it 25 or 30mm

Its how the fronts and rears differ, you can not adjust the ride height with these springs and oem shocks, not without cutting springs.

so id be better going for coilovers, i dont want to go lower than 30mm . really want to avoid scraping..

id buy aftermarket LCA's and bolts if you can as good chanced the bolt in the standard ones will either not move or snap!

Just get the springs if it's a road car, let's get real your looking for an improvement in looks more than the handling?
If it's just a daily car you use to get to work etc and won't be going on track or anything then those springs will be fine with your shocks.

To save wasting money just soak in wd40 and try and loosen them after 10-15mins before you buy new lca. If they won't budge then buy the arms aswell. If they do turn then just nip them back up until you do the springs.

this was when it was lowered before and wires stared showing on the inside of wheels so i dont want to go so low , or could i put these springs back on and solve the tyre wearing problem.

Sounds like you almost dont know what you are talking about.

Sounds like you're trolling instead of using arguements.

Have a read here and here, you might learn something from it.

That's an alignment issue. Bet you didn't get your tracking done after lowering the car?
All you need to do is get your tracking sorted once it's lowered and you won't ruin tyres.
