Anyone here ever had some custom pistons made? I am interested in the cost and lead times involved, I am looking for some ITR copies made but with a 25.83mm compression height instead of the stock 30.23mm.

I've had no experience myself but it is something that has crossed my mind a few times. Try emailing real street preformance and asking them for info. I know they can get custom CP pistons made up.

Also have you killed your B16B Kozy ?

SEND R-MOTION OR ek9tURBO A PM ON HERE,

R MOTION DO COSWORTH PISTONS AND EK9 TURBO IS A TUNING GOD

Aye, murdered it at a sprint yesterday.

These engines are made of chocolate. :D

Well I was considering using B16B rods with a B18C crank to get a better R/S ratio, should enable it to rev a bit higher, be a bit more reliable (ring wear) and possibly make a tad more power higher up the revs than a standard B18C.

I need a smaller compression height on the pistons to fit it all in the block though.

Wiseco...mine took about 2 weeks after the order was placed. Not long at all in my mind.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they set you back?

What was custom to your setup?

Well awaiting the mechanic to confirm, but I suspect the rings had let go (it had been burning oil since Feburary) more than I had thought. Despite topping the oil up to the top of the dipstick the day before, it burnt it all off inside of 60 miles, ran the crank dry and spun a bearing. He ran it today and said it was caught early as it doesn't rattle constantly, it can be driven around slowly without making any noise and it's only under load that it knocks. Hopefully this means the damage is minimal.

This **** happens, I knew I should have rebuilt the bottom end before the engine went in but the swap was hitting me in the pocket hard enough a few weeks before christmas.
It certainly hasn't phased me, it will be back on the road before the end of the month either in standard rebuilt form or stroked.

The race engine company my mate works for use JE Pistons, they do various Honda already, so they know the specs and you can request custom changes. I'm told that the prices are "reasonable"...

Cheers PhatBob. I had CP, Wiseco, Eagle and JE earmarked for this as I have seen the do Honda pistons already, however I think the price at circa £500 for a set is a bit beyond the price range of this rebuild at the moment, certainly a consideration for a future high compression upgrade though.

im pulling my b18c-r out this Friday...I will be thinking of ya!

What are you doing with yours then Tama?

Are the internals being replaced? ;) ;)
