I have been doing massive research on parts since I picked up my new job and I came across some rims I must have. Only issue is the 16in rims only come in 4x100. I will be purchasing the CTR 5 lug swap and I want the rims below in 16in 5x114.3. Does Rays Engineering/Volk do custom rim setups and if so who would I even talk to for that?
Pure *** aka Volk RE30:

Fair play them wheels are damm nice!

And that diffuser , looks like a really good fit!

Josh..

Surely just stay 4 Lug? You can still get good brake setups in 4x100 so I can't see a reason to swap... Unless you just wanna be a Mad Tyte Baller y0 with your extra wheel nut? Which would be incredibly gay...

Incredibly gay? How about safety? How about more rim and brake options? How about improved rear brakes ...in it's stock form. How about I assume that a Civic Type R part is probably a huge improvement over a stock EJ6 drum brake? Would you tell me that is gay as well?

To give your trolling self a good idea of what I'm planning (and hopefully I get a response for my original question eventually)...

1. Civic Type R 5-Lug Conversion

A. Purchase CTR 5 lug conversion pieces

B. Purchase OEM ITR Brake Master Cylinder

C. Purchase Spoon Monoblock Brake Kit

D. Purchase Spoon Rotors, Pads, Brake Lines

E. Have all suspension parts powder coated

F. Replace all bushings with Mugen/Spoon Bushings

G. Purchase Volk RE30 16in 5x114.3 / Falken RT615K’s

2. Chassis Prep and Paint

A. Strip paint and spot weld chassis

B. Reinforce or Replace rear subframe

C. Weld shut all excess holes in engine bay

D. Remove all sound deadening in interior

E. Remove all excess metal pieces in rear hatch area

F. Purchase new front bumper, headlights, CTR front and rear lips

G. Install REAR roll cage

H. Paint car S2K Silver

I. Replace all moldings/weather stripping

3. Engine Prep / Transmission Prep

A. If not already present install Toda/Spoon Stroker kit.

B. Install “A” class Toda cams, valve springs and retainers

C. Refurbish Differential

D. Refurbish transmission

E. Purchase Rywire wire harness

F. Purchase OEM ITR airbox, Spoon intake arm, Spoon Filter

G. Purchase Toda Race Headers

H. Purchase new exhaust to be determined later

...and besides...real men run 5 lug anyways...

are you the new bill gates?

I make 60K a year...I'm single...and I have almost no bills...so...it's like power to weight ratios but with bills vs income.
edit: not to mention I'm going on a deployment to Egypt for a year that I'll be able to save the majority of the money from. I'll have close to 40K or over saved in the bank when I come home.
edit2: and it's not like all that is getting done overnight. It'll be a decently long process. I'll be starting a project thread when it starts.

I don't see the extra safety in 5 lug over 4...

Like I said originally, there are plenty of brake options available in 4x100

more rim options?

HAHAHA This bit made me laugh!! You're arguing that 5 lug gives you more rim options, but at the same time suggesting getting custom Volks made because you can't get them in 5 lug.

I spy fan boyyyyy

Yes they will do custom lug patterns, contact Mackin Industries, it aint cheap though, you sure you have the budget for this? WORK also does custom lug patterns but iirc at no extra charge ;)

If I was on 60k a year with no bill i'd be importing a Mugen RR but I spose if you want to mod a Civic that's ok too hah.

Is this Jaws kid a troll or something? Guess what Jaws...opinions are like assholes...everyone has one.
To Blinx: I had no idea Work did custom rims at no extra charge...I'll have to look into that.
Edit: wouldn't mind a set of these in 16in ...

editagain: and it turns out those are available in 16in 5 lug pattern....win

end of the day it is your money and your car.
Exactly. And it's not like I'm buying shoddy, ricer parts either. I do plan to actually use this car at the track. Seeing as how the CTR is the OEM standard for Honda Civic performance I'm not just purchasing CTR parts because they're 5 lug...I am purchasing it because the engineers at Honda know what the hell they're doing. I am a tad "offensive" at times like you say but remember everyone has their reasons for things. The Work rims are just as well made as Volk (cast low pressure aluminum though) and they're WAY cheaper than Volk. I don't buy "bling" but I would buy a rim that saves me a 1/2lb per rim for a higher price...whether or not it's "JDM". Regardless those Work rims are sexy...and that is my reason for buying those.

Thanks for editing my post. Good luck with the car, it doesn't matter if it is JDM or not but there is a difference between cheap ebay crap and high quality precision made, researched and developed items. I don't see why you called me a troll though, I thought the idea of car forums was for people to give there opinion and you can choose to read it and acknowledge it or disregard it. Why would you post if you didn't want opinions? Anyway, I'm sure it will be a very interesting build and I look forward to seeing it.

to be honest id rather buy an s2000 and sink 30 grand into that than on a civic

i like my civic and all but like for the money you are planning to spend you could have one mega car

you could get an NSX for that

Work Emotion CR-KAI's in 16x7 weigh 17lbs per rim ...
Volk RE30's in 18x8 weight only 16.2lbs per rim...

Jesus I can't believe how unhelpful some people of have been in this thread as mentioned a 5lug conversion isn't being a fan boy he's running a b16b that is possibly stroked in a car with drum brakes and looking to upgrade to a performance set id say that's being sensible. as for dumping so much money in a car have a look at what people have done on this forum and add it up you might be suprised and there is a difference in paying out for a stock nsx in one lump or slowly building up a car into somthing unique over time.

I believe blinx has answered the question now I admit I didn't know the answer but having seen those re30's in the first post id love a set myself though I don't think I could afford them yet lol.

Again, I'm sorry about that...was a legit mistake. There is a difference between giving your opinion and telling someone what IS...even though it's only your opinion. I thought it to be the latter....if I was wrong...again...forgive me. I saw your car btw...absolutely immaculate.

Everyone has opinions and are entitled to them. My patience will eventually draw thin again like it did in this thread but I attempt to see the other person's perspective before I dive in. I have been in to the performance side of Hondas since I was 16 (I'm 28). I've owned multiple B series engines, D series engines and all of them have been heavily modified in some way. I have always thought about function over form. I just wish when a thread was made asking for help people would cease their opinions until, AT LEAST, the person has had their question answered.

they come in 5 lug too in 16" or atleast used to.....:nice: you can find a couple of used sets in honda marketplace/honda tech
