Don't think I ever posted a pic of the bronze vc on the motor.

Got sick of this motor issue and decided it was time to open it up and swap the VTC gear and retime the motor.

Only pic I have right now.
9033718672_c798ef3ed3_c.jpg

Need to borrow my friends torque wrench to button everything up and it should be all back together. Hoping this solves the issue or I'm just stumped.

Alright so currently motor issue isn’t solved just yet.
Past few days I took apart the head to replace the VTC cam gear.

New VTC gear in place and motor timed
9098518388_98d4fcf6a9_z.jpg

Started the car first time and the Code wasn’t there. Second start the code came right back on.
So far what I have tried,
Two different VTC sensors
Two different Vtec solenoids
Two different VTC cam gears

I tried an Oem harness just to see if that would change any thing and it did not.
I burnt out the Map by mistake so I need to get a new one of those then I am going to disable the Vtec oil pressure switch to see if that will make the code go away.

Well picked up some new wheels last week from a friend.
They are not mint but the intention was to refinish them a black but I put them on the car and decided to keep the bronze for a bit

Also picked up some CTR headlight from a friend.
Don’t have city light pig tails though.

It’s a good thing I got them from him when I did bc he crashed his car a few days later and messed up the headlights.

Also got an odyssey PC680 battery and OEM tps sensor from a good friend.
Need to pick up some new battery cable and

Have an RRC crank pulley on the way bc mine has a chunk missing from it.

Have a whole bunch of updates this time

Don’t really have pics of this part but ktuned piece kept leaking repeatedly. So I tried some different Teflon to prevent that. It was actually plumbers Teflon which seemed to do the trick at the moment.

I also had some brake issues where my calipers kept leaking and not getting a strong pedal. So I ended up getting two new front calipers for the car.
Brakes feel way better than before but still not where I want them to be.

Car wasn’t idling for more than a few seconds bc the Map sensor went bad so replaced that and it idled again.

I disabled the oil pressure switch to see if the VTC code would go away and it did for a short time but it eventually came back

Moved the car out of the garage for the first time on its own

9157139124_cdb6522b19_c.jpg

Alignment did not go so well actually. The pass side trailing arm there is an issue with, The toe arm is maxed out all the way in and its still needs to be adjusted. So I am going to see if adjustable trailing arms could solve this.

Decided I wanted to attend a meet in NJ with the car so I finished putting the car back together.
Put the interior back in finished a few things in the bay that I need to do.

My bc alignment wasn’t 100% I drove down on my kosie’s so I wouldn’t ruin my new tires then swapped the Se37’s on.

Got one pic of the car at the meet. Waiting for more coverage to start showing up.

9184735080_9bc021d2c3_c.jpg

Driving the car I realized I needed to still take care of a lot of things still.
Drove the car about 150 miles only real problem I had was the surging idle which was from air pockets in the coolant system.
It started to rain at the meet so I had to flip up the intake to stay in the bay and not be a cold air.

For what it is the car feels great! Wish I could have actually got on the car and messed around a bit but car wasn’t ready yet for that. I need to get used to the hybrid shifter box still with new cables, new box and the upgraded springs I need to break it in…..or im just to used to sloppy D series linkage I used to daily

What I still need to take care of
-Vtc code. Tried another ecu and it was still the same ****ing thing
-Install window visors
-install Roll bar/paint it
-Install over flow
-Paint front calipers silver
-Fix alignment
-Order seat harnesses
-Align body panels
-Get the car tuned
-exhaust

Got my hytech twin loop exhaust finally put on!
Boy was It a pain to get to site right and fit.
The sway bar caused all sorts of issues so moved some hangers around and got it to fit very well.
Forgot my camera so I used my cell phone

Attended a local car meet for a shot time it was too damn hot to stay for long.
Really favoring the mugen wheels over the se37’s

Okay its been a while since I updated this thread lot of changes and updates going on.

First update, finally got some tires for the k1. I went with some Potenza Re11 in 205/50/15.

9607474983_44978dc099_c.jpg

9610826122_6b0b7a4758_c.jpg

Next major change up was the wheels….So my original plan was to powdercoat the MF10 to some sort of black. Went with a low gloss black, its not really flat.

9607600145_7e920ef848_c.jpg

Took the tires off the se37 bc the 215 were rubbing too much they will eventually get some 205 put on them. So they are in hibernation now.

9610828092_fb50e891a2_c.jpg

I ordered some silver stickers for the wheels. I was indifferent about them put them on and really liked them.

Got my valve cover to match my wheels

9607574871_381a872d68_c.jpg

The inner baffle was taken out to be cleaned up and prevent any media getting in the motor so I had to re rivet it back on which was scary

Now I put it in the bay with black acorn nuts and black washers

9607604187_8ef4188e35_c.jpg

Well the next big stuff was to get the car ready for wekfest. The week prior I had a lot going on so there were quite a few sleepless nights. The night before wekfest I got 2hr of sleep in my garage.

Took some time to finally clay bar, wax, polish and clean up the car really well after sitting for so long. (my friend helping me here)

9610812234_6856756874_c.jpg

I have also been keeping this item on the down low for a little while!
Mugen SS lip finally came up for sale and so I said **** it and bought it.
Got it back from my painter at 12:30AM only a few hours before wekfest.

Should have some good updates next week ;)

Alright got some recent updates had a lot going on last week.

Well first up is ITR expo which was at Mid Ohio race track.

Had to take care of a few things with the car to make sure it was ready to go!

The number one thing was to get my trans back in the car again.
After having some issues with the Mfactory LSD I had to send it back to get checked out. I was hoping it would get back in time for Itr Expo but I didn’t want to risk it not being able to attend.

Trans out….again
9688583068_c4f28ab18a_c.jpg

While it was out made a few changes to the trans. Good friend of mine is very much into drag racing his car and kept having to shift into 5th at the strip due to his type r trans. So we made a deal to trade my 4-5-6 out of my type s for his type r 4-5-6.
Kyle (Kjbuilt) took care of the trans work and did an awesome job!

Ready to go back in…again

Next up on the list was to install the roll bar finally. I painted it a simple black, it was not worth powdercoating bc it would be covered in protective foam.

Didn’t have time to snap pics of all of that was just in the zone taking care of everything

Time to pack the car

I left Sunday at about 6am to meet up with some others going to ITR expo in NJ. We meet a bunch of people along the way to ohio.
We made pit stop at the summit store in ohio
The store is amazing! Wish it was local to me !

Sunday night we went back to the hotel which was filled with ITRs and a ton of other sick cars!

Woke up Monday at about 6am to head out to the first day at the track!

Kevin got a nice pic of me taking of the MF10’s to swap brake pads and put on the k1’s
I ended up using some Axxis ultimate pads which I would prob upgrade next year

Since it was my first track even I was obviously signed up with the Novice run group. A few of those guys had some track time under their belts so they were faster than me.

First Session of the first day took it really easy and left the car in 4th and just learned the track with my instructor.
By the 3rd and 4th sessions I was getting faster and learning how to get some of these turns down much better.

Took a ride in my instructor’s car to see how another person drives on the track. It was a blast he was very smooth and consistent.

Pretty sure this was the morning of day 2

ITR EXPO 2013 by Spanier Photography, on Flickr

Day two I ended up switching instructors after the first morning session bc my instructor was prepping for his ride back home to AZ.

He knew the mid ohio track a bit better so I learned some little tricks and pointers on how to get a faster line. The second day was a blast!

I let him take my car around the track in the last session for a few laps then we switched back.
Was kinda sad after the last session that I was over but felt like a bit of an accomplishment that the car made it through 8 track sessions at about 20min a piece with no real issues.

The only issue I had was what I drove to Ohio with which was my VTC code which I cant get to go away.

The motor wasn’t performing to its full potential which kinda sucked for exiting turns.

Home sweet home after 1100 mile round trip 8 track session! It was deff worth all the headache and stress!

Few things I want to improve on the car over time for the track
-Oil pressure gauge
-Oil temp gauge
- Tuner view RD1
- Carbotech pads for the front
-New Rotors
-Adjust my shifter box a bit to get the shifting how I want. I had it on the shorter side
- Oil pan baffle just to be on the safe side

I have a whole bunch of go pro videos that I am going to take a look at and post something up.
I didn’t get too many pics bc I was too busy with my car and had a bunch of time in the class room.

amazing build thats all I can say

bet the track days where fun ?
Id like a professional to take my car out to see it taken to its full potential obviously when my cars ready anyways haha

but yeah no short cuts taken here and not stanced which is what I like when reading builds

Awesome build!

Thanks! The track day was awesome most fun I have had with a car!
I let my instructor take the car for a few laps around the track. Said its a well built car and honestly it wasn't 100% at the track day

No stance here! Some nice wheels and sticky tires :nice:

Crazy car and build..like your bay...

Thanks! Put plenty of time into the bay I wanna re route some things to clean it up and ease of working on it.
