crashed ek need some help please on what to do

Alright on friday i crased my 1999 ek vti with 64k 0n the clock am so gutted cant belive it this car was my baby and now im stuck on what to do
As i dont want to go through my insurance because it will put my insurance through the roof and i know it would be a write off and it would kill me to see it go to the scrappy
So all i can do really is put the engine in another honda because i will have a full conversion ready to go in
dont think i can save the whole car well probably not worth it!!
how hard is it to get hold of a shell and is it hard to do a full conversion as never done 1 before
Any advise,help or people with shells please post anything would help greatly as still cant get my head around it loved that car so much

Holy **** you alright?? And i i was you buy a shell of sum sort maybe an ej9 as you can get them cheap enough n shove the engine in that ive never done a conversion before so couldnt tell ou how hard it would be but all the lads on here can help sell parts that are worth selling on the ek to make more money bud

Time to get an EK9 shell.....

Many of us have reshelled, done engine swaps and there all pretty easy just time consuming.

Its easily done. You'd get an EK9 shell for around £500.

X2 reshelling would be your best plan of action mate

i paid £1000 for mine with a lot of bits still with the shell

Re shell of i were you. The conversion shouldn't be too tricky providing you keep all the loom etc

Yeah im all good only abit sore so nothing to worry about luckily not a scratch on me or my passenger witch is amazing so i can tell you a civic is a good car to have a wack in if you know what i mean
cant say how most other hatches would hold up after that im guessing not so good or i was just lucky

and yeah i reckon a ek9 shell is the way forward if i can pick 1 up for around that price

i dont mind spending alot of time doing it just dont want to lose the whole car to the scrappy
and its only the passenger side the rest is ok some how so will have alot of parts for sale

yeah i will keep the whole car till its re shelled probably the best way because i have all the parts for the conversion just need a shell if anyone know of anything or a good place to look for a shell let me know
want to get it back on the road in someway

that lookd a sore 1 ,glad to hear u got away without any scratches! i feel ur pain but as dan and the boys sayd re-shelling is the best way to go esspecially if uv got the engine ready to go, gd luck with it ,keep us posted

Re-shell for sure man, I once upon a time did this. Hope you/everyone was ok though!

Look for Livvy on here, she regularly has rolling Ek9 shells for sale - also where I got mine from.

I'd definately re shell into an ek9 chassis. As already said the worst bit is the time to swap the bits over but you could get the shell sprayed inside and out making sure it's mint and rust free

Sorry to see that hope ur ok. Car can be rebuilt if u can dont clame ur insurance if poss and as said get a cheap clean shell and let it live again.

Wow! Good to hear you came out of it in once piece bro. Better you loosing a car then an arm or leg!

Stuff like this happens and you always know you pick your self up and buy somthing better

only hit a hedge and me and my mate are fine so its all good really
except for the car but that can be sorted in some way

i will be looking at getting an ek9 shell as soon as i have the funds and can find 1 i will need a rolling shell as i cant see mine would be any use except for the engine ect

going to strip it tomorro and see whats what
