cost of a B16 or a K20


^^^ exactly what I was thinking, if you cant afford to upgrade the suspension, brakes etc then no way go for the k20 swap it would be a disaster waiting to happen. Id go b18 and upgrade everything else with your 5k budget and if your left with money for a turbo then happy days
 
With £5k, just buy an EK9.
With £2k, just buy an EK4.
Converting an EJ9 is pointless unless you've already massively upgraded it.
 
Yo wuts up honda masters. I got a question., im getting a k20 swaped into a eg6 but my question is if i could put the a/c on it?? And how much it would cost with everything ???
 
are you living in a very hot climate? if not no need for the a/c as its extra weight most people take it out anyway, also iv never seen a k20 swap with a/c but im sure its possible
 
K20 would be my weapon of choice. Just be sure to get a proper shifter box, this would be key for me!
 
go for a b20 pal i did and it will work out cheaper tham a the b18r conversion and will go every bit as well! uve 5k to play with so you will have a well sorted motor all round for that sort of money!
 
if it was me i go for the k20 thats the heart of the car everything else comes later..

and for the question about a/c on kswap yes you can keep a/c hybrid racing has the whole kit to do it
 
got sum good responses from u honda enthusisasts..oviously brakes clutch and suspension is on the top of the list but priority number one now is sourcing and fitting an engine that will give me jus the right amount of power to be keeping up with ep3's and crx's..after the engine the brakes r guna b changed then a paint job..light weight clutch..tein street racing suspension and the exhaust..AND then its either a turbo or supercharger..

another question lads..wats the difference in the ek9 chassis and the ej9..? is it seem welded..?

and KOZY id rather make a car then buy one theres no enjoyment in buying it lol..

If you paid less for your b20 than a b18c conversion,i highly doubt your b20's been built to a high standard.
 
with a 5k budget you could buy an ep3 with a k20 and have some money left over you would have everything you need plus brakes. then you would be able to break the rest of the car and make some money back. i did this with my eg was a b18 swap tho cost alot less..

i know the mounts are different and the hubs but you have everything you need to fabricate / convert. the money left over after buying the car and breaking it would cover costs for custom mounts and the brakes being converted
 
thanks lads iv decided to go with endless horizon for 6k im getin a low miler k20 tuned custon exhaust and a wire tuk also including engine bay respray..then im guna hit the breaks and get them changed to sumfin like spoon callipers..

No point doing EP3 brakes really, MG 282s are just as good and are a bolt on mod.
 
If your wanting the best brakes for a ek shape civic, phone gerry at performancetek. He makes up an ep3/Accord frankenstein setup. 330mm
