Cold start death rattle!!!!!!!


Just change the LMA's for the new style (spring type) and call it a day. Leave everything else alone...
 
I dont want to just replace bits willy nilly which is why im asking here first to see what peoples previous experiances come up with before i go ahead and do the refresh, if i dont have to do it i wont. I fitted a honda filter to see if that sorted it well it obviously didnt, next ill probably try a slightly thicker oil which takes me back to a prievious question no one answered, what oil would you recommend? Bareing in mind winter will be here soon.....

Those LMA's are expensive so would like to avoid if possible
 
Wasnt you on about basically a bottom end rebuild ? Look i tell you what, i have the exact same issue as you with my engine. I am going to be replacing my LMA's in the next couple of weeks so if you drop me a pm in two weeks time or so i'll tell you if its cured it. A decent 5w 40 oil is perfect for a NA setup. Thicker oil will just make things worse so don't even think about it.
