Hi all,

Does anyone have a method/products which will clean the suade on their Recaros. Mine are starting to get black on the arms, especially where the setbelt rests but no idea what to use on suade!!

Anyone got a tried and tested method for it?

Just use standard upholstry cleaner the foam type one and spray it on heavy let it soak for a minute then scrub it in with a brush then wipe it down with a damp cloth! Repeat this process a few times then hoover the dampness off the seat! They should come up mint...

Right sweet. I didnt think u were meant to get moisture on suede thats why I was unsure?

Just a recommendation, when I cleaned mine, I remove them from my car, and after cleaning I left them at my yard a couple of hours down the sun, if you don't do this, there is a chance that your recaros will smell bad (just like when you wet your carpets on the rainy season)

I had the seats out also but they dried in my living room and there was no smell! Dont worry about the dampness damaging the suede just dont soak the seats!

if you want a complete clean, just soak the seats and put it out to dry like RVM said.

Yeah I thought about taking them out, probably the best move.

Thanks for all the help and responses will get them cleaned up this w.e and post what I used and how it worked! :nice:

Theyre alcantara which is very similar in texture to suede so suede shoe cleaner works a treat. The seats in my ITR were black on the bolsters when i bought it originally and i gave them a good scrub with Punch cleaner and was amazed at the difference it made, bang for buck you wont go wrong with it!

Last time I had a stain on my ITR recaros that couldn't get out. One day upon delivering flowers to my fiancee, the water spilt out and onto the seats completely saturating it.

I forgot clean and dry it that day.

Next day, noticed the stain was gone and seat was dry.

think i will also try this punch stuff sounds good, so how about drying it because i live in newcastle and you cant leave it in the sun because there is no sun, they proberly just get more wet lol. because i had the same problem with my last car i got them washed and they took ages to dry and the car stunk after that and i dont want that happening to my ek9.

When I washed my carpets with a vax I used the ac and heat to dry them, worked really well on re-circ. no ac now though ! Eek!

'punch' suede show cleaner, works a treat

Yep that's what i use on all my sales cars. Spray it on, then a little more, scrub lightly with a stiff brush, then rub dry with a old clean towel making sure to pull the material taught when doing all this at it gets the creases out.

Dunx

Do you take the seats out to do it and let them dry? Where do you get the stuff?
