Has anybody had problems with the electric windows in their cars. Mine have gone very bad, they take all day to go up. My civic is a 97 so is this expected.:please:

As above, silicone lubricant. I got Halfords own brand stuff which is a spray can like WD40 which was a few quid. Work loads better now.

my 9 has the same problem , theres a guide somewhere if you want to the door cards off

Nah no stains on the car or windows. It does get a bit greasy with it being lubricant, but I just left it for a a couple of minutes to settle into the seals then wiped the excess off and it was fine.

I cleaned my car after because I though it was best to, but there was no real need as it didn't run.

just bought some silicone lubricant :nice: good stuff!

Used this on mine... my windows have VTEC now!!!

ek civic windows are crap...FACT

had same prob last year, thought the passenger regulator had packed in so
got spare.sprayed it with same idea as above but made by "holts" and it started working again
same window completely stopped and wouldn`t go up last week, sprayed with
the magic spray and still wouldn`t operate properly

grabbed my spare regulator and went to a friends to fit....got there and it started working again :win:

think the "lube" takes a while to "seep" into rubbers etc which are dry then
its starts to operate, saved me alot of hastle!
