Car tax increase !

So i heard on the radio this morning that the government are talking about increasing car tax by 65% and adding 5cent per litre onto petrol prices....
not sure if this is a definite but my god i hope not.....
anybody have any more info on this ?
 
They couldn't do that with tax surely? Doubling it? so instead of paying €125 for 3 months your gonna pay €207 for 3 months?
The price of petrol was at a steady €1.50 a litre for months and 2weeks before the budget its dropped to around €1.46... Seen that one coming anyway haha
 
its gona end up if this goes ahead that no one will be able to afford to drive ther cars etc :angry2:
 
They are increasing car tax but I doubt it is gonna be by 65%! There is no way I would pay €207 for 3 months. I'd rather not drive a car than give that sort of money to the government!

dont worry pal this is in ireland , the closest well get to riots here is a 10 man protest on grafton street and people complaining to Aidrian kennedy :/
 
scumbags! I hate the government, we pay all this for car tax and they dont even bother their arse to keep the road in good condition. Then with petrol they I think they make about £1 per litre from tax (i may be wrong) they just charge far too much as they know we have no choice but to pay it! :nono:
 
Government are scamming bast*ards! Even trying to raise the retire age so folk work longer so they get more money!
 
I know ill be buying tax tomaro for the year to avoid this but then when its up i wont be buying it.. Im sure gurads will understand mayb not in dublin, but the more rual you are the more leaniant they can be.

Don't do this :))

Well Ireland has to pay back its Deficit somehow, and it means that the government will have more money to spend. Governments don't Tax you and keep it for themselves.
