Alright Guys, I’ve been on this forum for a while now but haven’t really made much effort to join in and get to no any of you lot so my name is Chris Burgess in 22 I live in Hertfordshire about 4minuits away from South Mimms. This isn’t my first build or Honda I started of with a EJ9 were I dropped and B18c4 init and put ek9 replica lips and grill on it and then a fresh re-spray witch was my baby then from that I went to an EP£ again done a fair bit to that aswell was booked in to be turboed but I just wasn’t happy with the car as it wasn’t me so now I have got myself a well know and popular EK9 witch some of you may have seen in a FastCar magazine last year so I’ not going to be able to take the credit for how it looks ha ha. Hope you enjoy it!

All the suspension was done on this coilovers, lca’s, rear camber arms and a few other little bits. It was a great car to drive but just didn’t do it for me so I decided just before I turboed it I would go for….

This Black EK9. I brought this car with things done to it already:

Volk TE37 Bronze 15" alloys with Yokohama Parada Spec II 195/50/15 tyres.
BC racing BR Series Coilover : Type RH coilover suspension.
Genuine Spoon Carbon Wing Mirrors with blue tinted glass
Techno Pro Spirit ECU - Vtec engages at 5krpm and revs to 9.3krpm, also more torquey lower in the range
Buddyclub Spec II Catback Exhaust
SPD Baffled De-cat
Tegiwa Imports Kevlar Intake Elbow
HKS panel filter and cold air feed
NGK Performance ignition leads and NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
C-West Vented Fibreglass Bonnet
Memoryfab S68 Carbon Bucket Seats in red cloth

So quite a good spec list to start on and this is how it looks before I put my own touch to it.

So that is what the exterior looked like when I brought it very clean and straight.

I’ve always wanted to be able to pull up to a meet and make my car get a bit of attention but never happens lol much be doing something wrong. So this is were im at so far haven’t done much to the exterior as most of it has been done for me already.

First thing and good wash and polish.

The one bit I can make a difference on is the engine bay as it was pretty much standard when I brought it apart from Spoon intake elbow and NRG ignition leads so I’ve been busy buying little bit to improve the look of the bay.

First was the rocker cover. I’m going for the simple red, black and carbon combo as the car is black and the rear light are aswell so thought I would tie it in with that.

Then got myself some red hoses as the old one were abit grubby

I started doing a wire tuck just the headlights and fuse box and battery. Ive now got the fuse box in the glove box and battery in the boot. The only other bit of wiring I wasted to get rid of it the injector cables so I got this some people don’t like it but I think it just tidies up the wiring.

So thats what i have done so far but at the end of February this will be in for a turbo conversion with a B18c4 and a few other bits so more updates then, if I don’t spend more money before then on something witch I’m most likely to do.

Right now the engine has been sold i could get on with taking it out and start to work on the bay before it goes into ricky for the conversion ive always loved how people smooth everything so giving that a go this is how it looks

Then once i grinded down the fiber glass i used normal filler just to go over the fiber glass.

So finished up sanding everthing down gave it a quick whip over and the masked up and started priming.
So the first coad was with a etch primer just to spray on the bare metal so the other primer sticks better.

Bit of tidying up to do and clean up a couple of bits, Re-build the break lines and then its ready for the new engine and turbo
 
Bay is ready to put back together so i sprayed the brackets and the master cylinder and my new non ABS valve just have to build the new break lines and the its complete.

Got my new mounts today had to change the standard mounts as they are just horrible to look at so as the engine is out and the bay is frest i brought myself some

Heinz are horrible to eat but are great to make wind screen washer bottle out of haha.

Nicely tucked away in the glove box probably not a great idea to have it next to the fuse box but time will tell
 
Had to get rid of the bonnet holder or what ever you want to call it haha so i got some carbon NRG bonnet dampers, I was abit worried about using them because of the fibre glass bonnet but they work well and hold it nicely and it nice and easy to pull down with no stress on the bonnet either.

Its been a good week this week got my RPF1's and my NRG carbon bonnet dampers but these arrived today all nice and fresh.

Well today my 9 was picked up and taken up to Sheffield to Ricky at Race-Tech, I can't wait to get it back just praying its back before Mimms fingers crossed.

Few more parts ive bought as im still waiting for my car and now its not going to be ready for JapFest witch i am soooo pissed about but nothing i can do about it. The thing is the longer i dont have my car the more thing i buy for it so its costing me alot more not having it witch isnt good. after seeing this at Mimms on Ramzy's stunning EJ9 i had to have it but my 9 isnt a facelift and im not buying facelife light, wings, bonnet and grill just to change the bumper so im having to put up with the pre face lift a put the Mugen lip with ARC winglet on to that instead. The lip is yet top be sprayed but tbo im not in any rush to do it as wont have a bumper to put it on to for a while haha

This arrived today from Tegiwa came in two day with isn't bad apart from i have 3 brackets or what ever they missing and a bolt, but looks good so when i get my car back with should be like 3weeks i can get it in and hopefully ill have all the missing bits by then.

This arrived today, Thanks to mannysjdm and my mum and dad as it was a birthday presant for my 22nd. cant wait to get this all in but i can decide if i should keep it black or spray it red or campovolo grey like my engine bay but i cant make my mind up so im going to have to wait untill i get my car back and its in to decide and what will go best with the chrome x-brace.

ive just realised ive put this in the wrong section sorry!!! its now a B18c4 stock engine but everything else is upgraded so when i come to re-building the engine i dont have much to do, tbo i dont no what has been put on to this car untill i get the car back with the spec sheet i just kept saying yes to everything haha but ricky at race-tech has done all the work and its now running 360bhp at the fly and about 315-320bhp maybe more at the wheels so cant wait to get it back tomorrow:).

cheers you lot just had the shitest phone call saying that the car wont be with me tomorrow, so it was meant to be with me last friday didnt happen then today didnt happen then tomorrow not happerning so now its going to be monday great:( ive only been wait 6months for it haha

Ah dude that sucks.. has it been in the garage 6 months or you've been waiting to do it for that long ?

Yh it's been in the garage for 6 months so missed it hugely haha. What do you meant what going worn with the build haha.
