yeh what happened man?

you got the OEM bonnet on for clearance issues?

what happened?
IIRC his bonnet prop on the seibon broke hence he reused the oem one

any videos from the day? :) would liek to see the car in action :) wot happened?

Clutch went at 11.30, just as I was about to put the new RS-R's through their paces, got some footage, its not great as it was early, track was cold & slippery. Matt 'Bigskank' towed me to the gate then the RAC collected me later, got home about seven, £200 lighter.

Matt has lots of footage from the afternoon though, sure he will upload at some point. Clutch is oem and only a couple of months old, will know more when it is examined.

gutted man sorry to hear that :((

luck just wasn't on your side !

Just checked the footage, wasnt sure where the clutch broke earlier, as I got to Paddock. Only have one vid, just uploading it now.

Yeh the bonnet catch, so stuck the oem back on, its way better than the Seibon crap.

Nightmare man i had this happen to me a couple years ago when i organised a day at castle combe, second lap and pop, my clutch was fubared, managed to limp it 120 odd miles home though :-0

This is the only vid, I get held up by an old grey BMW as I get up to speed, I let a Caterham past thinking he was going to be faster and push the beemer out the way, but no. Just as I get clear of the traffic my clutch goes..

sweet man the wee Caterham was goin no where !

K20 POWER !! :drive:

looked like alot of fun gutted the clutch went :((

what were your initial thoughts of the K20 on track?

That session, after I got past the Caterham would have been where I stepped up the pace, track had dried, sun was just over the whole track, so I honestly have not had a chance to get stuck in.
I was running brand new RS-R's, drove to the track in them, new tyres and a cold track, was a touch slippery, I had a lot of tyre squeal though as the track started to dry, had the suspension on medium (total 5 clicks only), I had only just wound it up to hard on that session so never got to push them either.

It has been a very frustrating year, waited a long long time to get the car, then work has dried up meaning only three outings this year, Abbeville was poor - a large go kart circuit imo, an evening at Brands in torrential conditions - only had 45mins there, now this.

The K20 is a fantastic engine, it just pulls hard, its effortless, may be doing Mallory end of November work pending, so maybe I might get a chance then, if not then Spa in Easter. Should have the RBC package done by then.

The car has been under the knife, turns out I had ripped the friction material off one side. Tom said he had only seen one like it in a long while, where the guy had changed down from 6th to 3rd at high speed, not sure what happened with mine as if I had done this you would hear it on the video.

I am now the proud owner of a Competition stage 1 clutch, this is a six puck paddle affair, and can handle approx 40% more torque, it has a fair bit more bite to it, will see how I get on! :)
