Just a quick question. I have an ej9 with Integra brake conversion (4 disc's) so i want to change the proportioning valve to a civic that has 4 discs. What ones can i use that will fit? (my cars a 99 facelift)

Was there any difference with the facelift and pre facelift valves?

Can i use ek4 or ek9 also?

Thanks a lot! :nice:

Does your car has abs?

Never had and still doesnt :)

Hmmm I think you should use a non abs integra one, I think the civic, ek9 & ek4 has the a proportioning valve that has a "line" to the abs pump.

But lets wait to other members opinion!

this sounds familar... didnt blinx reply to a post about this same thing just a couple of days ago....

I looked about but couldnt find an exact answer and after buying 4 different valves (all wrong) i want to make sure i get the right one this time. They are pricey enough each time :(

Can you find it for me please?

Also, just want to make sure the two holes that holds it on match up (they are diagonal kind of, on the ek). Not sure on the holes on the integra

Will ek9 or ek4 do then please and does it matter if it had abs and mine doesn't?

Abs one wont work in a non abs car. What you need to find is a JDM EK sir 95, 96 model brake bias valve as they didnt put any abs in the first of the EK model sir's and no need for bending or adjusting pipes in your car as the brake line setup is exactly the same so it fits in perfectly. These are rare to find but if you call a few jap breakers you might get lucky. I converted a EJ9 to EK4 SIR spec not so long ago, ill try check the valve to see if theres a model no. on it as I defiantly changed that along with master cylinder at the time.

Booster?

I am running a 1" Teg Master Cylinder with full dc2 96 spec 262mm brake conversion. What happens if i get a valve that came off a car with abs? I imagine finding an ek9/ek4 without abs would be quite hard?

Thanks for the help btw!!!

The valve off a abs car will only have 4 ports on it so its no good. You need a 6 port valve.

SHOULD be able to give you a part number for the part you need tommorow with any luck

I'm currently collecting the neccesary brake pipes and prop valve to convert my EK9 to non ABS

Got the chassis number from a race base EK9 with no ABS so heading to honda tommorow to order up parts

As mentioned though, on ABS cars you have only 4 ports on the prop valve as only the rear brakes are fed from this, front brakes feed direct from the ABS pump

Non ABS prop valve has 6 ports, 2 from the MC go in, 4 go out, one to each brake :)

Can you let me know a rough price on the valve from Honda please? Having no joy trying to get one

Thanks!

for USDM cars all 96-00 civic dx/cx use the prop valve for cars with all wheel disc brakes so no need to upgrade, i am unsure of some UKDM models, it is believed that some of these may need the new prop valve, you want to find one from a VTI that does not have ABS in that case and it should bolt right up, i am in USA so my advise on UKDM cars is only based on hersay.

Part number for EK9 non-ABS prop valve is

46210S05942

Honda are completely out of stock, would need put on back order with no garauntee of it ever coming :((

As for non-ABS brake pipes again back order items and Honda just reccomend making up your own pipes as that is what they do themselves for customers cars

I guess our rides are getting to that age, nothing available or on indefinite back order. :(

Making your own pipes is easy enough if you have the tools to do it, but you need the correct hard line (piping) as Honda uses a funny size (can't for the life of me remember what it is though, it's been a while).

The non ABS prop valve looks like this:

I just checked with my parts guy at Honda and there are two in stock at Honda, not cheap though. I can order them and send them out for people if you need them that bad?

What Honda did you check with?!?!

I'm REALLY needing one, as you said the price is £100.98 +vat :wow:
