Guys, Im in need of some brake pads. I was going to change the front ones for something thats a bit more grippy, as Ive noticed some brake fade from speed, not the best feeling to have when trying to haul the car up.

Any recommendations (dont want to spend too much) not for racing etc, just a bit better than standard?

Also, Ive been looking for pads for the rear which Im desperate for, just standard ones needed, but when Ive been looking them up on ebay etc, they say set. Does that mean per side or for the whole rear?

Ferodo DS2500's are a good replacement over standard.

As for the sets on ebay I would have thought that a set would mean 4 pads ie enough to do both sides as it would be unusual to only change one side.

They will never sell brake pads for 1 side its danjerous because 1 will have more pad than the other side and the pistons in the brakes work the same so 1 side would were more

Thanks guys, I kind of though that, but wasnt sure. I knew you had to replace as a pair, just wasnt sure if they sold them that way though.

normally when they are sold as a set its for either the complete rear or front set. nobody would sell a side at a time...

ive got some project mu pads with slotted discs.. they are pretty spot on, but cant compare them to much else as thats all ive had.

I would say DS2500 are a bit pricey and a bit squealy for road use. Yellowstuffs or Redstuffs would be a good option. I used to use OMP Road&Sport pads which were pretty good for the money.

EBC Bluestuff are supposed to be very good.
Pagid Blue are supposed to be very good.
DS2500 are good.
Yellowstuff are 'alright'.

I would not use Yellowstuff again personally.

I have DS2500's in the front and they grip well from cold, get even better with heat in and i haven't ever heard them squeek at all. I really like the and will use them from now on!

Only downside is they are very very dusty!

I have heard good things about buddy club brake pads.
A mate has the ds2500 on his ek9 and are very good road and track!
Behind white ek9 wheels they can be abit of a pain though!

ok maybe it's just my calipers. but i would still say they're a bit pricey when it's for road use only and when the op says hes looking for something "just a bit better than standard?"

If you do want to spend that much though, I'd personally go for Hawk HP+ over DS2500, very sharp for a road pad once you get them warm.

True ds2500 are a fair bit more than ys or hawk. Unless u really hammer your car on the road i dobt think you notice much of a difference between them

I'm also running hawk hp+, havnt a bad word to say about them. They are mighty on track and great on road too.

Dusty as hell though :angry2:

Im running the HAWK HP and are fine for road use.
Not dusty either compared to ds2500

I also have these in stock for EK9/DC2 front and rear.
