alright guys going for my first track day in the next few months, going to be booking soon. And was wondering the best things to think about (my car wise) to do before i go ?

Also if anybody else is local/not local that is doing the track in the next few months? would be good to go on there with another or a few ek9's/hondas

I am also looking at my first trackday at the start of the summer. Brands in my closest, but Bedford looks a more interesting track, so was planning to come there inestead. As everything depends on cash though as car need a few niggles sorted out and isn't as track ready as yours yet!

For around £150 Tdi offer a pre-track day inspection which is like a 200 point check or something if that's the kind of thing car wise you were talking about.

yeah that would be great come along! the main reason im going bedford is because its open meaning no barriers so if i come off all that happens is get a dirty car.
yeah im meaning the things i have to make sure are perfect etc and things i should watch out for. just general info really.

but if you are up for our first track day come along with me to bedford will be alot better with another 9 on the track :D

Get yourself signed up on HOT, we have a whole section for people new to trackdays, everything to help you get started, HOT days are very good for new folk also :nice:

just worrying about the spoon n1 + spoon b-pipe + DC2 OEM 98 spec manifold being below 101db

do you think its higher than that or not ?

IIRC someone mentioned 110db. :nerv:

As for Brands Hatch, don't write it off just because it is a short circuit (Indy), the elevation changes make it a difficult one to master!

Before you book anything, go to your nearest circuit and get tested, I went yesterday to Brands after calling MSV (trackday organiser based there) and had mine done late afternoon, this gives you total piece of mind.
Easy enough to fit an oem backbox for the day as another option.

what is the average db reading for most uk tracks ? do you think the spoon combo wont get on many tracks then ?

European law is coming in at some point, there will be a 98db drive by at most places soon I believe. Much depends on the track and type of day at the moment, it will usually state either 98db or 105db static, but if you are too loud on the drive by they will pull you in to sort a bung or throw you off.

have you seen many people on track with spoon systems then ? or do you think a bung is needed or does everyone with a spoon system use bungs on track ? ive heard only bad things about going on track with a bung?

I wouldnt like to run a bung all day, cant be good at all, although some are better than others, unless you have management that can run two maps. Not sure on other peoples systems, as said best to get checked or run an oem box.

When I did mine I just did a general check, made sure I had some good tyres, slightly overfilled the oil and then checked oil and coolant everytime I came in.

you'll never get on bedford with that db reading mate, sorry. its one of the strictest circuits about. one strike and your off. on a better note tho it is a great track to learn on as you said its soooo open. what sort of dates you thinking of doing???? if my cars finished i might pop along.
