bc coilover vs yellow racing coilover

BC set been on my car for over a year now with no issues :)

My car is equipped with bc coilovers.I replaced the default spring rates with more street legal rates. These coilocers have accurate dampering adjustment!!

Iam very satisfied!!!:nice:

From what I hear, BC coilovers are well made, but the damper dyno curves suck.

Here's BC claimed dampers dyno results:

And here's an actual dyno plot done by an independant tester.

If you don't know what you are looking at, the top one is an ideal damper force curve, the top half is the rebound force, which goes the opposite direction to all but the hardest settings on the independant test results. The solid red and blue lines on the second chart show you where the ideal damping force should be.

At least the adjustments are distinguishable and somewhat consistent, certainly better than some Tien dyno tests I have seen.

Obviously you could do a lot worse, but I wouldn't buy them personally.

Kozy,I agree with you,but all tests are done under ideal conditions!!!

BC provides defaults spring rates 12Kg/mm(front) and 6Kg/mm(rear).This rates is ONLY for circuit or race!!!This rates are extremely big for street use!!!The coilovers should be revalved by mamanufacturer at new spring rates while we choose new rates!!

Attention please, coilover revalving is not requiered if the spring rates are up to plus or minus 2Kg/mm from bc defaults rates. The absorber operates safely within this tollerance of spring rates!!

If you change the spring rates, you can understand that the dampening is not stiff!!!!Try and error!!

Yes I know they are under ideal conditions and not really representative of how they perform on the car, however it is the only thing we have to go on in terms of quantative comparison, and a progressive rebound force curve just doesn't stack up.

Going to be suffering a lot of understeer with those stock rates too!

I heard & read a lot of good reviews regarding BC coilovers so BC gets my vote.

meister r is best bang for buck atm mate, good coilovers and well priced. cheaper than bc or on par with them i think
