Hi all!

well ive been tracking my ek4 everynow n then and i was looking forward to fit a baffled oil sump on my nxt track day 4 July... try to avoid the starvation of engine Oil caused by high G cornering that recently happend to a m8 of mine @ ascari last month!

remember reading a thread on here abt how to make 1. 'cos running bit low on funds @ the mo... :nono:

so any one hve any expierence i could make use of, or know where i could a cheaper sump? found the Spoon pan for aprox £200, tho guess i could do with getting 1 done. :secret:

I'm running the Mugen one.

Think i paid 300€ more or less, but is one of the best investment you can do...

Good luck.

Btw, what car has your friend?

I agree with blinx, Moroso has an extensive line of pans from simple (like the one shown on that link) to expensive ones with high capacity and one way oil drainback doors.

The design shown above is pretty similar throughout all the cheaper pans, nothing special. A baffled oil pan from mugen or moroso or one you make yourself all kind of do the same job, so whatever is the cheapest is probably your best bet. If you or a friend can weld then you can easily make one; I think someone on here has posted a thread on it.

The cheapest baffled sump is the moroso, its about $150usd and this guy ships worldwide!

thats more like it!! great price thks :blinx:

like 'Dino-Spumoni' mentioned; A baffled oil pan from mugen or moroso or one you make yourself all kind of do the same job, so whatever is the cheapest is probably your best bet... so guess a moroso cant really go wrong :nice:

Blinx the moroso sump u showed me is well priced, tho a bit of DIY would save me some more cash!

gonna look into both options, less than a month for my nxt track day. . . and want to avoid tracking again without a baffled sump; appreciated :nice:

thks olly... tho i dont hve the facility for the material & cutting the blades, so that would set me back more than the ready cut blades...

i will see what my best bet is... will post up my final decision.

Thanks all :)

What's the problems and benefits of using a baffled oil sump in a daily driven ek4, note that I make some trackdays with it

Thanks

I have been using my own baffled sump for just aver 2 years with no problems,if you could send me your sump i could make one for you and weld it in,you pay post and £20 for metal and time.
If on the track its nice to no the oil is by the pick up not splashed up the sides !:nice:
