b20z vtec build

Sorry to spam your thread, I've got oil leaking on my engine for some reason. It's coming from the sensors down over the block towards the left hand side of the block below the hose that goes to the radiator.

Is that the VTEC Solenoid does anyone know?

sounds like cam seals to me..?

what pcv systems are people running on their b20? seen a few good diy threads to make your own catch can but what have you guys done?

its prob the cam seal tbh? they are a common fault on b series? u can get uprated metal replacements prettyy cheap which never leak, take a pic of where your leak is and ill try help more, ye i need more ideas on pcv catch can systems?

Its defo th front cam seal next to th dizzy. Mines leaked when i first bought my 9. Bought a skunk2 billet cam seal and never leaked again. Its superficial really as it looks slot but it aint good luck gettin it sorted as it does look messy!

no replys to whos running what pcv system makes me think you guys dont run one?

This is likely the reason your engine leaks oil and is popping seals, too much pressure in your engine!

:nerv:

A good PCV system is very important on b20 vtec.

The stock b20 block doesn't come factory fitted with a breather system.

You remove one of the 14mm hex bungs at the back of the block and add a nipple you can buy from Honda and screw it is. Then you use that as one of the take offs for your breather system.

2 more from the front of the rocker cover helps a lot too. All this lot going to a catch can with a big filter on top, or more that one with either a drain back or a scavenger pipe.

If you don't run a decent PCV system on your b20vtec, the pressure in you engine will eventually wear your seals down and you will end up with oil leaks.

That is a simple way of putting it, I can go into more detail but that's the basics.

Good post, thats what were doing this weekend, we got the plug for the back of the block and going to be running the 2 pipes from the rocker. How well is your system working? had any issues with it? and please do go into more detail...... :nice:

Im running 2 hoses into a can.

some good info, shame we now have to wait another week ( maybe more ) to build the car after getting promised all the parts were in stock and would be here days ago, that was obviously a lie as the order was placed 2 weeks ago and at a cost of £500ish on parts! And now some of the parts are no longer in stock?!!! hmmmm

I would name and shame but i think people can guess who it is LOL same old story!
