And it's going like ****!

It's going so much better now, the pull off third and fourth is so much better now especially third.

Love it.

if you think third is good you should try second lol

wee need videos

standard b20z do make good power and torque with little head work 98spec was one of the best manifolds for the b20s i found wat power and torque figures did ye make

Yes it's going really well.

Luckily someone has borrowed me a brand new PLM 4-1 header, this one here.

Private Label Mfg - PLM Headers & Manifolds

It pulls so much better now and it sounds lovely too, much deeper tone especially when you floor it.

Lee - Second is mental especially in the wet with Yokohama Paradas, it just spins!

Let my dad have a drive in it then and it was spinning in 2nd and 3rd, he was cacking it. Say's there is some power there.

Not sure on power figures yet guys, no idea what the torque is. Power was originally around 204bhp but should be a tad more with the 2.5" system and manifold, probably nearer 210 now I'd have thought. Daz stuck the wideband on and it was running very rich which is a good sign as it means it's breathing better.

Took it out for a road tune and he mapped it on his laptop while I drove. Previously it was very hesitant in 1st and second, second is a lot better now but first is still a bit hesitant but better than before. Throttle response is actually very good for a 4-1 as they're not ideal for low down power, mainly better for top end and you can clearly feel the power difference in it now with that manifold, once you hit 70 it just accelerates.

Love it, really pleased with it. Just need to get the handling sorted and my Recaros in and then I'll be even happier.

It is horrendous on fuel though that's the only downside. Although it has bags of torque it's hard to keep from flooring it everywhere as you just want more power from it all the time.

I assume you mean it was lean running not rich cause rich running now compared to before would suggest the engine isn't breathing as well.

When exactly does the hesitation occur?

Daz it was running rich from what I can remember, I could have been wrong though.

Hesitation occurs when pulling off from low revs, mainly first and second. It's still doing it a bit from time to time, not always though. I think I'd need a 4-2-1 manifold to get rid of this as the 4-1 won't be helping unless there's something electrical that's causing it such as plugs, dizzy etc?

It is nothing to do with your manifold. With the displacement and long stroke of the b20 a 4-1 manifold suits it fine.

It could be ignition related but does it behave itself bar when getting on the throttle initially? If so sounds like a tuning issue to me.

Yeah it's fine.

I'd have thought with it being re-tuned it'd be a lot better but I guess everything can't be ironed out.

I normally stick about £37 quid in and in all honesty that will last me what, 4 days at most so you're looking at anything between 154 - 170 miles ofF that but that does include me driving like a twat.

It's **** on fuel. I am however going to try and make a concerted effort to drive a bit more sensibly between now and the end of the month as I'm skint so I will report back with any improved fuel consumption figures.

Not getting my hopes up though! LOL.

Mine has 100% got better on fuel in the last 1000 miles. I managed 155 mile on half a tank on the m5 - over the moon!
