Just finished a B18C4 conversion into a Facelift EJ9 conversion.
The engine is 90k and came from a running donor car.

It's using a P28 socketed ECU.

The car will turn on FIRST time, but you need to give it a blip on the throttle to help it out, once on if you let of the accelerator it wont idle on its own.

If you hold the revs gently at 1,000rpm it will idle perfectly without an issue and revs freely etc.

Any ideas? First thing that springs to mind is idle control valve or the throttle cable needs tweaking!?

It's also got a "whale *****" induction kit and it had 2x holes for sensors or vac etc. However, we can have only utilised one from the cam cover.
Any ideas whats the second for?

Theres also a VAC pipe off the top of the throttle body. Where is this supposed to go? As im at a loss on finding a location for that!

Lastly, We used the radiator off the MB6 as the EJ9 was dead. Leaking horribly etc. - Now once thats plugged in when you turn the key 2 clicks the fan immediately starts running. Do the wires need swapping over or something? Little odd!!

Thanks!

By no means a genius with engines but might be an earth missed somewhere? I've got the same style induction kit and just have the hose running from the rocker cover, dont think the other holes a necessity.

Well, the earth on the gearbo is on, and the one on the rocker.

All the engine loom earths are on i believe...

yes there is cel as u put and also battery light is on, since this I drove the car for about 5 mins stopped stalling but would rev on its own btw 1k and 1,5k if I dropped the revs, and after driving it I lost all power on the car all eletrics went out

seized alternator perhaps? Would explain cutting out (too much resistance), battery light on and no electrics (battery empty!)

Unsure, the car it came out we drove home for 3 hours without a hiccup!

When you turn the car on you the engine managment light is on, and so is the battery light.

Something worth mentioning the EK4 alternator plug was a different shape to the MB6 alternator. So we spliced the old plug onto the new loom.

There was 4 wires on the EK4 loom, and 3 on the plug for the MB6 alternator plug. So obviously we left the 4th unconnected as theres nowhere to put it.

Other than that the car drove faultlessly and it took a good 10-15minutes before the electrics went. But, weirdly the car was still driving when the electrics died, until we put it into neutral and the car then wouldnt restart without being jumped....

Any ideas?!
