as said i feel theres no power below vtec, my old ek4 b16a felt like it had more go about it lower down, anythought to what might cause this, its only got a 2' mani fitted
I thought it was just mine that was very weak low in the rev range. A friend has a b16a eg and we've had a few runs at the track from a stop and from a roll. When we go from a low rpm roll he always jumps away until I pull back in a higher gear. From a high rpm roll in vtec I begin to open a gap straight away. I've always found it strange that is the case..
The b16a has slightly higher piston acceleration due to it's shorter rods compared to the b16b which will net a little more torque at lower rpm's. Also the P30 intake manifold always makes better low-midrange torque compared to the type r intake manifold which doesn't really shine until past 7000-7500rpm on the b16.
