i have a ek4 with a 1.4 engine and want to convert to a B16B but every time i try to get a quote they say they can't without an engineers cert or something, does anybdy know any cheap companies that would insure me, i'm 19 with 2 years driving exp.

if they want a engineers cert u wil prob hav 2 change the brakes ect.. prob work out cheaper to buy a vti and sell ur car.

An engineers cert just checks the engines power etc but I want to know wat the insurance will be before I get the engine cz not forkin out over 2k for an engine to find out they won't insure me r it's like 3k to get insured

EK4 (b16a2) with a 1.4 engine? Do you mean you have an EJ9?

You tried any specialist insurance companies?

Like said above, it might be cheaper just to buy a VTI (EK4) and insure it.

No I bought an ek4 off icetronix and they had already converted it to a 1.4 I fusion, but I want a b16b now and not buyin a new car have put 1,000's into it

Why would icetronix convert an EK4(B16A2) into a 1.4 illusion(D14)???

It's going to be the next big must have swap :)

Maybe to sell the d series bits they have from conversions?

can you not just put a b16a2 in its a ek4 anyway then you wont need to insure it as a engine conversion

Or just ask for a quote for a vti/sir! They have to quote you so don't accept the usual crap like "we don't insure that car"...ask for that in writing if they do say that or else tell them you already have the car.
