Hey guys, i have been reading around different sites but cant really find an answer. forgive me if its a really noob question but i was wondering if b16b or b18c manifolds fit onto a b16a with no problem.

and if so would i have to change my ek4 exhaust and cat to suit the manifold afterwards?

reason im asking is i eventually want to get a manifold (98 spec teg, toda - if they fit) and fujitsubo rm exhaust but i dont think there was one made for ek4 fitment.

so ya any comments greatly appreciated:)

anyone?

ok i figured out b16a manifold to b16b engine = bad idea collector is smaller?

b18c manifold to b16a engine = fits but hangs lower

so is a b16b manifold to b16a engine ok?
also is the piping for all b16a exhaust system 2.25 or 2.5?

thanks :)

b16a2,b18c4 and b18c6 is 2.25 inch collector,b16b,b18c is 2.5 ich

if you go for a 2.5ich manifold you'll need a 2.5inch adjustable de-cat to make it fit plus gets rid of cat so more gains for you :)

so is b16a and b16a2 both 2.25?its a jap ek4 sir i have with a jdm cat?

I think your starting to confuse everyone and yourself.

The reason why B18C-R and B16B headers hang lower is because the Type R block is taller than the B16a block.

B16a OEM header wouldnt fit on Type R engines anyway because of the long block. It won't clear the oil pan.

jugbugz the deck difference is only about 12mm iirc, i don't think thats that much. I have had Header designed for the b16a clear my b16b block and oil pan with ease, it really more depends on the manufacturer unless he is talking about oem headers?

Yes aftermarket headers don't have a problem, he was talking about oem b16a headers on a b16b.

oh wait. Maybe hes not talking about oem headers. I just got confused reading all that

If he is getting a B18C or B16B mani and an aftermarket exhaust he will be fine. He will need a CAT or decat to match though as the ek4 cat will be too long and narrow!!

completely forgot about this thread!

thanks for everyone's input and i was talking about both oem and aftermarket manifolds :)

Sorry for the thread revival but can we confirm that a b16b exhaust system will fit a b16a2 ek4 but will need a 2.5" cat/decat to complete please?

so ill need that welded on even though its the whole oem ek9 system im going to buy but hasnt got a cat?
