I have been think about turboing my ek4 for a long time now and was jus asking for some advice on good parts to turbo and forge the engine to handle about 275whp if you dont mind giving some advice it would be great.

i heard my ears ringing :blinx:

275whp is a nice number, look into something like the edelbrock open track turbo kit, comes with a GT28RS turbo which will spool pretty quick and easily make those numbers, you have to get your own fuel and ems though, add a thicker head gasket to bring the compression down and some head studs for insurance.

After that its off to a reputable tuner. Might be good to discuss this all with your current tuner before you start buying anything, parts are useless if nobody can tune it.

Edelbrock also sells a kit that comes with a pretuned fuel and ems solution but you wont make 275whp with it.

Yo should also have enough money on the side for the following:

-clutch
-exhaust/decat
-tuning
-fluids
-brake upgrade (a good set of pads and rotors with SS Lines minimum!)
-decent set of tires

thanks blinx for all of that :nice: would i have to forge the engine as i dont want it to blow up on me or would it be save running it at a low psi.

It will be safe at 275whp, i do not have forged pistons and i am making 333whp.

Now if you really want to be safe what you can do on the side is buy a spare b16a shortblock, maybe a blown one and build that with forged internals so if yours ever blows up you can just swap it out, or just put another stock one on there temporarily.

i think if you do this is better to build with forged internals the one you have now and finich and will coast you less

does anyone know were i can buy one of the edelbrock turbo kits from as i looked every were but cant find them or am i jus being blind lol.

would it still be the same and would i need anythink else to turbo my car sorry for all the silly question but turbos are new to me still doing alot off research on them :)

Not sure what all is in that kit, message the seller, i guess you would still need an ems and fuel solution unless it comes with the kit.

why you dont check greddy turbo kit, it comes with e-manage and extra injectors

because e-manage is crap.
i know that is not the best put is working and is cheap
i know some cars have it for 2-3 years with no proplems(my friend evo have one make 380whpfor more than 3 years)
greddy turbo kits is full loaded(no needs even tuning) and in the future when you have money you can change the e-manage and give more boost to your kit

blinxs if i buy the hks turbo kit and a thicker heads gasket and the new clutch
would i need any think else to get me started. If i run it on a lower psi the internals should be safe right. as i am waiting to hear from a garage about fitting and tuning.

headstuds.

why not buy the proper compression pistons to begin with if you're considering forged from the link you posted?

x2, if your buying new pistons get the proper compression, run an OEM headgasket and heatstuds.
