b16a turbo help please

I was at a rolling road day a few sunday`s ago and a stock integra type r with a B18c6 made 311bhp with just a turbo kit and ecu!!!!!! I and has had no problems what so ever!!!!!!!......Ive also heard that a guy at Gotboost has a standard B16 and is running 350 plus.

with most turbos installed on stock blocks...it'll come apart eventually, unless the tuning was very mild.

It's not a question of IF...it's a question of when.

Thats such a fine line, i will say for the most part you are correct BUT as always there are certain exceptions to the rule, me being one of them.

As you know i have built my b16a block with OEM Honda parts, OEM pr4 pistons, b16a crank/rods, ACL bearings and thats it. So far its holding up just fine, granted even with aggressive tuning and crap 91 octane fuel the 8.3:1 compression is soo forgiving i don't worry about much. I also don't drive the car daily, i keep an eye on all vital parameters, fluids changed religously and i make it a point to only boost 1-3, i very rarely boost in fourth and never in fifth unless i am just passing someone.

I have no doubt that my current engine will last a VERY VERY VERY long time. I also have Heatstuds and a very good crankcase ventillation setup to boot.

I am somewhat of a fan for the stock block turbo setup as long as measures are taken to lower compression to nothing higher than 9.6:1 and the user is well aware it may let go if you boost 1-5, it also may not, and if treated properly it "should" last and if it doesn't you hardly spent any money so its not that big of a deal :D
