Hello this is my first post in this section i know almost everything for the B-H-F-K series engines but this days i saw something more weird than B20 patents i saw in EG hatcback VTi Euro Spec a B16A JDM engine but i noticed between the block and the head of the engine was iron patented to increase displacement of the engine and when i asked the owner of the car he said me it was 2200cc with this patented iron between and B20 crankshaft and custom piston and rods he didnt say me ofcourse where he saw this pattent but i believe is something like the CTR or ITR head which is taller than the standard B16A head. One friend is making an EF with this patent these days and is keeping it secret for the whole setup is anyone heard anything like this before?
If anyone told me ever this i would say he is lying but i saw it with my own eyes ! :S Sorry for my bad English.

jun racing do a 2.2 stroker kit, but i think its alot of work to make it work effectively. and its not going to rev as nice and hard as say a b18 or b16.

O i am sorry i didnt make myself clear i didnt see the engine disassembled
it was on the car on the streets and the iron between was so noticeable! It is like a fat head gasket so fat and solid as the type of hardware of head and block etc...
I also see it running against 3 Civic EK4's the first one with B18C R Skunk2 Pro 2 Cams, second one with H23Block H22A Head and the third one with K20A DC5 engine and it win them all great sound i have never seen this type of patent again...and it was revving hard i saw 9200rpm + his cams profile are similar to F20C JDM 250ps...

A mate of mine is building a high compression B22

Basically a B20 block with a brian crower stroker kit

Most you can go with a stroker kit on a B16A is 1.9L

unless you increase the deck height?

I uploaded the video to youtube mates to see what i am talking about...
The EG right of the camera car has a setup of B16A engine with some patent unknown a B20 crankshaft + custom pistons and custom rods with cams similar to F20C JDM engine of S2000 the weird thing is the very fat head gasket which connects the head with the block it is so solid and big like they wanted to increase the height of the B16A head similar to the B16B and B18C heads...see how many seconds it spins from the power...the other two EG's setup are the camera car is B16A+LSD with CTR cams and the other one is B18C swap...

You mean increase the height of the block, not head

EK9 and DC2 head is a regular B16 head which has been hand finished and uses a different valvetrain

The brian crower kit gives a displacement of 1.92L on the B16A :)

Yes increase the height of the block but if i could get a pic of the engine to see what i am telling because of my bad English i think almost no one understands what i am trying to tell you :p I will try to get a picture! The hook doesn't close in any of the two cars i am telling you! :p

increasing the deck height and not messing with the rod and pistion, meaning leaving them at OEM spec., would not make it a higher compression engine, but a lower compression, why would anyone do this other than someone with a forced induction setup?

maybe he's got a custom stroker kit

If that is the case, how much of the cylinder walls needed to be cut, which then would mean less stroke for the piston. I just can not see how even increasing the deck height would provide any positive outcome. :nono: Never seen it yet, but does not mean it is not possible, I just can not see how with my limited knowledge of increasing the stroke.

Maybe if the pistons were further apart or larger in diameter or both, then maybe?

you be surprise what some people can do last time i went to endyn to get a quote on my port and polished they gave me a tour to the whole shop and they had some prototypes b16a2 motors pushing almost 300hp n/a.

What you've seen on his engine is a custom deck plate, used to raise the deck height of the engine to allow the use of longer rods with the longer stroke.

Gets around the main issue of the long stroke engines being unreliable due to shitty short R/S ratios, allows them to rev higher and more reliably in theory, however I have no idea how reliable the deck plate itself is.

Yes oscarsayco is a custom stroker kit they gave the specs to some company and make them but what i am trying to tell you is that they created their own "engine part" between the block and the head is amazing if i could show you some pics but i don't have...and it revs for his desplacement a lot! :p

No worries. Quite a rare part over this side of the pond, but fairly common in the US as they love their long stroke drag racing motors. :nice:

I can understand a 300hp NA, but a 2.2 from a 1.6 VTEC engine? Just cant get my head around it.
