drove my EG6 few days ago along the dually , and really notice the drop in torque going from the k20 , not saying i dislike the b16a though :nice:

I drove my mates EP3 around last week and after this I jumped straight into my car and took it for a drive. I was expecting to be disappointed, but my B16 put a massive smile on my face. Felt alot more 'urgent' than my mates K20 and the car as a whole felt a lot more raw. LOVE IT!!

when i took the ep3 out for a test drive though it was boring and slow , but now i have drove it alot i realise its not , its alot easyier to get up to speed , then again its gonna be its a 2L , would love a hondadata kpro etc , need better tyres though , hard to get the power down with the set on atm , no tread really

you have a b16a2 or jdm b16a , my eg6 is lightweight model has b16a and is stripped , want to stripp part off my ep3 , just back seats , spare wheel and stuff , not ripping the carpets and all plastics out etc

imo I wouldn't bother stripping a car unless you're gonna go the full lot. The acceleration you're gonna gain from just rear seats and spare wheel is nothing compared to the comfort you're gonna lose with extra noise etc. Just my opinion.
My EK is fully stripped just me my seats and some of my dash. Even my speakers, stereo, airbags, central locking, roof lining, sounmd proofing etc. are gone.
I'm sure if my mates EP3 was modified and stripped to the extent my EK is then it would be alot of fun. But driving it stock was boring. It still picked up nicely, but it handled like **** and the seating position was all wrong for me.
Id rather have my noisy, cold, uncomfortable EK and B series anyday.

i thought that with my eg6 that id Id rather have my noisy, cold, eg and B series anyday although my eg is very comfey even with the tein coilovers :) but now have got used to the k20 and ep3 , but like you said the seating postion sucks, sit way to high , going to get lower rails and want some blue recaros :nice: would like to keep the eg as track toy but dont earn enuff money lol

Missus has an EP but compared to my EG's and that, its like driving a serious boat, I honestly think an Indian Canoe would handle better to be honest.

Don't get me wrong its a comfortable, quiet car which is nice for a daily driver, but that's where they end, that's all. We enjoy driving it on distances but that's about it. Pulls OK, sounds so quiet I could hear a pin drop and it would deafen me.... but I like loud and raw so it just annoys me to be honest being in it.

They are not built like the old Civic's, so you cannot compare them as such, the reason being is because everything has gone Airbag crazy, emissions crazy and safety crazy and taken on this silly approach of bubble cars and space maximizing cars with TINY engine compartments that don't have enough room to swing your willy around in let alone a ratchet bar!!

I'm afraid the days of our REAL performance Honda's, or performance or serious driver cars in general more or less stopped in the 90's or early 2000's. The Glory Days are gone, for ever now.

They say the CRZ is fun, and this new BRZ and what ever.... I can't see it personally. They look like the SpaceInvaders have just taken a dump and stuck wheels on it.

the only reason i drive mine daily is because i cant justify spending the amount of money i have on my car to let it sit there hardly getting used. plus, i like pulling up nxt to people who have spent tens of thousands of pounds on a newer car and wiping the smiles of their faces when they try it at the lights lol.

well ive only just turned 22 and i already feel old so i probably will want comfort. even tho i cant see it atm.

Wow thats strange, b16a feels slow after k20. Who would of thought that.

Yeah OK we all know K20's go well, they're strong, and tuneable. The 6-speed box is a massive bonus as well and allows for a lot of drive-ability and possibilities really.

But do you know the one thing with them, that annoys me, really gets to me....?

The fact that their SO damn awkward to work on its unreal, when their sitting in the bay of a DC5 or EP3, there's ZERO space, everything is wrong, nothing is simple to get at in my eyes. And if its in an EG, EF, EK or CRX well..... I just don't know how people get access to things to be honest with you! I had to do an oil filter change and service on a mates DC5.... even the bloody oil filter was a damn nightmare to gain access too!!! Which should be accessible really as its a regular part to replace and service.... but no, in the end I had to result to the screw driver stabbed through the old filter as none of my oil filter removal tools would fit into the gap. To me, I don't like that!! lol

But B-series and H-series (the other personal favorite of mine) on the other hand - no problem, everything is there and relatively easily accessible, either from above or bellow.

No silly bulkheads to try and squeeze down behind or trying to get your hands rammed down in places that you know you're never gunna see your hand again.

When it comes to the old argument about you can never build an N/A B-series as quick as a K20.... that's total bull. ;)
