Hi.

I know this will prob be covered a few times, but im thinking of either getting rid of my b16 from an eg6, to do a k swap or stick with the b16 and turbo it for about £3.5k making 300+ bhp will in colchester will be a monster,
Or for about £4-5k do a k20 but keeping it standard just the exhaust intake and remap to the start keeping it around 200+ bhp mark

I like both ideas but both are stopping me from doing either lol.
Whats the best way to go.

Ive been watching nyce1s with the k20s and they are killers hmmm

I can understand why people like the NA scream but when they are highly tuned and need lots or rpms to make max power you are creating a lag similar to that of a turbo build because the power band is pushed up the rev range. There is no denying a b16 with a turbo will trash any k20,its wether or not you want to stay na or go with the forced induction route.

If you have 7ish K and dont want to have much more than 250bhp then Kswap is for you.

If you would like more than 240bhp and want to spend less money haha then bseries turbz is king.

Id go K Series everytime. You should try and go out in both K'd car and boosted car see what YOU actually like yo.

Most of those nyce1 video's are all B-series engines, Chris miller has a b18 turbo which is insane! I'd go for the b16 turbo, get a Race-Tech turbo kit and you'll be laughing

Thats a very hard call.. b series easy tune for big gains! any thing for the k series is all money..
Let us no wat u descide?:secret:

Alrite saif, hows your motor going? Have u thought anymore about turboing it?
Yeah i noticed one nyce1 being a b turbo hi boost.
If i was honest then the b would be alot easier for me plus would only take me till october to get the money and have it fitted plus tuned :D

The k would take me prob a year and me being me would give up like i dis when i was going to do the h22 high comp.

Think a b turbo it is then

Cheers mateys

Yeah i've had the though about going turbo with my b16A it would be good :), but not yet as i have uni soon so i'll probably do it after i've finished my studies. it will definitely be a Race-Tech kit for reliability. B series is easier to boost plus you can get off the shelf kits too! K is good but you need deep pockets to do anything..

Honda's should not be turbo'd! :nono:

K20 will be awesome, something I'd love to do one day.

IMO of course ;)

Until you drive one:D

Ash, Remember to factor in additional costs like clutch, suspension and brakes. Also for 300hp I would increase the budget abit. Remember you are wanting double the power from the engine. Everything has to be right.

Murray

O r ya but u will turbo it yeah?
Yeah the car will goto race tech for the set up will talk to him soon,
Ive already got a stage 2 clutch on the motor or do u suggest goto a paddle clutch?
Just been on race tech and hes now introduce a 500bhp kit :D
But surely that would be ok with stock internals?

So brake and suspension upgrade hmm might have to look at some setups whats yours murray?

I highly doubt youl get 500bhp from stock internals. As said try get out in both and then youll know what to choose. The b16 would only be off the road for a few days while being turbod while the k is the whole engine out shabang!

Depend what you want from your car?

I have b18 turbo for my daily, b16 n/a for track hope to go k20 with it in the future....

Best of both worlds. :)

Yeah i know i wouldnt, was just looking at he 2 kits. Dont fancy changing the internals as of yet maybe in the future i will, and yeah i know think i would leave it with him till he would be done :D but wont happen till a few months tho

Common sense says Turbo B16 every single time....
LOGIC says Turbo B16 every single time....

JDM says go K20 Lol.....

for me it makes absolutely no sense to drop £7000 on something that will give 240 Hp if its power you are after.....

to get a B16 Turbo to that you'd save a ridiculous amount of money over a K swap... for £7000 you could build a 240Hp B16 turbo and still have money for a B20 N/A build...

only YOU can decide lol.

Honda's should not be Turbo'd ??? LOL, its the other way around - Honda's should be turbo'd.... Seriously, if you want to be classed as a REAL man, then turbo it. Nothing beats tearing the road up at 9000rpm and scaring the sh!t out of people with a screamer pipe that sounds like a shotgun's been let off everytime you hit the redline...

Had a b16 turbo producing 300bhp on standard internals. It's pure fun and I would leave most cars on tr road. For around 2.5k it's worth it.

There a guy on civiclife who is running 400+ bhp on a b16 with standard sleeves with a Race Tech kit. It's possible!

I personally think you should sell your b16, and buy a b18c4, then have that turboed my Race-Tech they have done alot of them which are producing 350+ on standard internals and have been running for years

Lmao.

For a lot less money you could just go H2B and with basic head pachage and tune you could make 250hp and close to that in tq. Alit cheaper than a top of the line turbo kit or a k swap
