No dnt think it's the battery cz a jump won't do anything, but I can push start it and then it's grand

If you push start it, it gets electricity from your alternator when your car runs. Your car can even run without battery as long as the engine is running. You need your battery only for starting actually. Get a multimeter and measure the voltage on your battery when the engine is off and then measure it with a running engine. If your battery voltage is below 11,5 then consider it dead or dying. If your alternator voltage is below 13,5 when the car is running, it might indicate a dying alternator.

yeh but if my battery is dying would a jump not then start my engine? and if it was the battery it wouldnt make a difference in the amount of petrol was in the car but it starts perfect with a full tank but when it low on fuel it doesnt start sometimes, like this morning i had no trouble but yday it happended twice!!

Starter motor hit, bad earth when it get hot??? like its engaging but not or not enought current to fully engage it, clean all bat connections and earths??

Even if you jumpstart you need some juice in your own battery cause the wires can't transfer all the juice your starter needs. That's why you charge your battery a bit before you try to start :)

The other thing is true...but still, it only takes a few minutes and that way you can eliminate one possibility for a problem.

^^^^The whole pint of a jump star is to use some one elses car as a battery, this is why you comnnect positiove to positive and earth to engine of the dead car......:drive:

Charge, or replace your battery. As already stated...work from there. 99% its the battery.

charging the battery doesnt do anythin!!!^^^^ i can only start car if i push start it a jump start wont work ..

You pay postage and ill send you a starter motor, Id start with that anyway or clean your conections.

Check to see if your tank has a dent in it. Do you park the car on a hill?

Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn on the key?

If you rule out the battery , it could be a blocked fuel pump pickup , may be worth pulling the pump and checking the tank out ..

heck, borrow a battery from another car just to rule that simple fix out before anything more.

Sometimes, a dead battery can not be jumped, if too far gone.
Even with a jump start from another good car/battery, sometime will not work on a dead battery.

Find out if the battery is your issue by checking it with a volt/ohm meter or a fresh battery.

the battery isnt dead as it only happens sometimes like today had no problems with starting but yday happened twice. and battery doesnt explain why it only happens when car is low on fuel

Sorry but sounds like starter issue to me, Its clearly not a fuel issue as it wont even turn over, pm me where in dublin you are,
