Another B16T Full Build question

Ok so I recently moved to the UK and I brought my EM1 with me. It has the stock b16a2 with a synapse ac/power steering compatible turbo kit. It made 330whp and 225tq. Long story short I blew up the motor and when I pulled the head with a buddy we discovered the number 3 piston is melted. So I have decided to do a full build. I'm looking to make around 500whp and hit the 300s in torque on pump gas (98 octane from base).
The Setup:
GT3076r
Kteller 3" Turbo Back Exhaust w/test pipe
2.5" Charge Piping
To Buy List:
Crower Valves
Supertech Spring/Retainer Kit
Skunk2 Pro IM
AEM Fuel Rail
AEM Tru-Time Adjustable Cam Gears
AEM Pen coils
ACT Pro Light Flywheel
CP Pistons
Eagle Rods
Hondata s300
catch can
Port & Polished Head with 3 degree valve job
APR Head Studs
APR main studs
I don't know which cams to go with I would like to go with something more aggressive. I will still be driving the car everyday so something that would add excessive wear to the valve train would be out of the question. I read when I searched that Skunk2 Pro 1s wear on the valve train. Any suggestions or constructive criticism would be great.

ctr or itr cams are really good for turbo but sk2 pro1 are better

From what I have been told itr/ctr cams are a pretty good option for around 500whp, pro 1's are only needed if you are using a gt35r or bigger and want to make 600whp+. Also I would seriously consider sleeving the block if you want it to last at 500whp, the tune would have to be bang on. You should have a look at my build thread for b16 madness.

pro1's are great on my book there was a test while back that showed that pro1's made more hp & tq compared to ctr im currently acquiring a set for my build also

^^ This, exactly...

In to see the results, wonder on what dyno is this going to be tune on. Makes a difference on hitting that 500whp #. Good luck.

did you consider using an edelbrock victor x manifold? Pro1s are good to use and you'll make immense power with them over any oem camshafts. But having said that, even b18c4 cams are highly regarded as a very good choice in boosted applications. Ask any reputable tuner in the Uk who deals with Hondas and he'll tell you the same. BYR ran a 10.6 a few months ago at pod, and they were using stock c4 cams.

Got the CP Pistons in two days ago
nice, keep us updated :nice:
Sure thing

duely noted sir

Any suggestions, I'm running an S300; got that in last week

Already got the Skunk2, was pretty set on it but I did consider the Edelbrock. Either going with the C4s or using the stock B16a2s. I have a set of C4s that I might use but it all depends on a few factors one major one being funds.

Dont use the stock b16 cams for boost, they are terible, better off with the c4 cams all day long.

could somebody tell me why c4 cams are much better then b16-ones? Cause this page says, that they has exactly the same opening and closing times on both sides... (b16 and B18C USDM which is B18C4 in europe)

Specs for B series Honda Engines

From the sounds of it you will be fine with type r or ctr. I have type r cams and I had no problem hitting 500whp with alot of room left in it.

so nobody can confirm (with numbers, not "somebody told me") that b18c4 cams are more agressive then a2 ones?

itr or skunk2 stage 1 cams
I wouldnt recommend skunk2 turbo cams.

Cams depends from the exhaust manifold...
you cannot use any aggresive cam profile such pro1 etc with log or min ram.( the boost creep must be out of control)
From the other side you cannot use any oem cams(with good results) with top mount or front mount manifolds.

Ramhorn is at the middle of the turbo manifolds designs. You can go easy 500hp with your set up,depends on the boost pressure.
Oem cams are just fine, gsr cams are much better than b16a2 and works very well with log, mini ram and ramhorn,
Itr/ctr needs at least ramhorn and up...

The more streetable option and value for money=gsr cams are just perfect.
If you need a little more of that, proceed with itr cams...
