Anglesey track day in the dc2

Amazing day at Anglesey today. Was an early start at 5AM for a loonng drive to the curcuit. I was so impressed with the track though. The setting was insane and the track layout was just mindblowing. Was actually the S2Ki meet/track day so there was a good 10-12 s2000s on track. Without sounding like a dick they where all incredibly slow, even the supercharged ones. The teg had no issue with sailing right past before out braking and carrying so much more speed through the corners. Had a good play with a few kit cars and keeping up took massive attention and late braking haha. Had an issue with cooling at Oulton so i would do a warm up lap, 2-3 semi "on it" laps changing gear at 8-8,500 RPM then 1 all out NUTTER lap then a cool down. Got into that routine and it never over heated, used less oil and lots less fuel. Made my times more consistant too. Had an issue with some curbs coming out of the first corner. My mate joined us in his Cosworth powered Westy but unfortunatly half way through the day his cousin stacked it :(. I got my camera mounted and switched on. Went out and did possibly the cleanest, fastest lap including one moment at 90mph where the back end steps out and points me directly at the apex as i floor it from a blind apex out, i litrally said OMG thank **** i was filming that because i will never do that again! Ummm to find out i had it on photo mode!!!! I could of cried :(.... look in some pics for the tripod lol...

Looks like a great day. DC2 is looing very good.

Also those Vauxhall VX220's are ugly cars. I can only see a bit of it and it makes me ill ahah
 
Great shots there, doesnt surprise about the S2k, not been yet, looking forward to the footage :drive:

Cheers guys :). Haitch, there is no footage mate :(, just loads of photos of my boot liner where i was pressing play and then setting off not realising it was on photo mode :( so gutted
 
i wanted to come down to this track day but had other commitments! my mate went down in his RAGE buggy and his mate in a arial atom if you spotted them at all?

Some really good photos there mate ( a few with only 3 wheels on the ground & one with opposite lock:naughty:)

I had a look round your car at oulton a few weeks ago ( vtec challenge) looks like a very well set up car!:nice:

Would be good to get on track with you seen as we are so close!:naughty:
 
Cheers guys, i just cant beleive how lucky we where with the weather. it forecast thunderstorms, it rained all the way there and back but on that island it was dry and sunny ALL day!!

yeah saw the atom and rage, they where amazing!! did laugh when they got black flagged!!

Jimbo we should! Would be awesome to get on track with a few of us :).

I do 99% of my track days with HOT (hondas-on-track) you should get your self on there, they are the best track days around IMHO.

We are doing croft on the 22nd of July if you fancy it??????:naughty:
 
Beautiful track isn't it? Anglesey's the only place I've ever bought one of the CDs from the pro-photographers.
Like Jimbo said, get yourself down to Croft next month - should be a bit of a cracker.
