Am I too old for an EK9

Not to old at all mate. Like the majority say please yourself, live your life and be happy.

Christ im hoping to have my first 9 by the time im 25, not thinking im to old for one lol. It has crossed my mind to save for a more 'adult' car but i know with a 9 i will be able to afford to fix anything that goes wrong, where as if something went wrong with a skyline say, i would be screwed lol. :)

Nope, never too old. A lot of people thought I'd move away from Honda hatchbacks and onto some boring, run-of-the-mill German car - nae chance, don't see this happening.

Just look at Gan San, Tschuyia and all the other best motoring crowd and how they love type R's. I'm 25 and I have owned RX8's and currently drive an RX7 but I'm leaving all the gas guzzling behind and am in the process of sourcing an EK9 at the moment

I did!

Mind it wasn't quite run of the mill - 535i V8, carbon intake and cone filter, shotgun 3" back box and a remap. Well it SHOULD sound like a V8. :nice:

I got into hondas at 25, had my rotrex k20 ek9 at 28 and a k20 dc2 at 29

Now 30 I don't have a Honda though but thats because of becoming a family man and having 1 car that fulfills all my needs (m5)

Was just having this discussion with a mate if mine the other day. You guys truly discuss a lot of good topics. 32yrs old, going on 6yrs with my ej. Still dont care what others say.

I reckon your CE28's and spoon calipers would look nice on a '98 spec DC2 :nice:. Unless your simply bored of the Honda game.

The coupe shape could be considered a bit more "grown up" IMO.

In a word, no ! Enjoy your car mate dont worry what anyone else thinks !

^^^ couldnt agree more, i feel like this at times but then i drive my car and forget about it :)

Certainly isn't! I did consider an E39 540i at one point. I do have a slight V8 itch...

Spot on.

If you don't want to sell it and need something sensible, buy a nice daily.

Once I've got a secure job I'll be buying an E60 and when I feel like being a chav the EK9 will be there waiting.

Wow, Father and Son. Love it very special that you share a passion. Car both look great. I bet you both get some fine Christmas presents

I had my ek9 at 34 the guys at work all took the piss as they don't understand they saw it as a old 98 civic

When I recently got my fd2 they still took the piss and could not understand why I spent almost 17k on a 2007 civic all laughing at me saying I should of got a uk fn2

I let a electrician at work have a go .. He was absolutely gobsmacked ... Got out and was stroking the rear quarter saying "what a car " what a car "

He now gets it :)
