I have some adjustable suspension on my car, I don't know what they are.

and the ride is "bouncy"...is it suppose to be ? or is it something wrong.

theres damping adjustable on top mount.

the question is...is it only 4 ways?

I tried turning it round and round thinking it will get to a stop so i know it is on the hardest or softest.but it didn't stop after a good while.

heres a picture.

very bad picture, but the coilover is purple in colour, with some yellow spring below the main one...then it is the rings for turning up the ride height.

I am going to raise the ride height because it is too low...

Is that oil its covored in? If so you probably have a blown, non-functioning damper, thats causing the bouncyness.

yeah I did find some leakage. but it is really annoying me it is low and bouncy....

what suspension should i go for? standard EK9?

i thought about some Spoon Fix damper with Spoon spring?

if theres no picture, would the diagnosis be a non function damper?

if my car front is bouncing, even at like motorway or just rough roads, it is like a bouncy castle...

so I need new set of suspension then? I am going to go for Spoon Fixed dampers theres some 2nd hand.

do you think it will be a good idea?

if you can get them for a good pirce, you should buy them :nice: suspension should never be bouncy, stiff is acceptable, but bouncy is bad, usually meaning you have a blown shock or a very stiff spring on a soft shock.

hmmm, The reason why I decided to replace my stock ones with Teins was because mine were bouncy. Normally, if you push down the front of the car and if it springs back up then back down and settle then you know it's the shocks. Try that to the rears also by opening the boot and keep pushing down with your weight up and down.

I found out that it happens because the damper has run out of gas. You pretty much need to get replacement. And since you have a aftermarket suspension, then you can't really just change the shocks. On the stock ones you can but don't bother and just give your car a present. :D

New ones never spring back above their height settings. I'm guessing yours does. :nice:

I do have near new Tein Super Street damper for sale which rides more comfy then my new Monoflex

it wont spring back if he has stiff springs though, that only works on stock suspension in my expereiece.

I guess i had a feeling it wasn't suppose to bounce baby bounce....

Jugbugz u r in Aus tho...a bit too far for delivery.

but yeh i might check out the spoon damper with spoon springs, then i won't have to worry about setting it up. and i can learn the car fully like that.

once its done its done.

they problem is 2 things guys,

either the suspension is for track use only (if it is you'll never get a decent street setup & the ride will be a pain), or the spring is too short. i know bcz my daily driver is a 1994 mitsubishi mirage & i have k-sport fully adjustable coilovers which are for track use only. I used to have a massive sound system & i installed them so the car wouldn't look ridiculous bcz of all the weight in the back & i tightened the springs 6cm which is a lot! Even after i took the sound system out, the back still feels like i'm driving a trampoline!!! :drive:

I will have a look at the dampers properly and see what i want to do..

it is quite difficult on the road with the bouncyness but on smooth surface it is on rails :wow:

OK guys...I just been using the 9 everyday and all day, its getting very troublesome going through bumpy road the ride just doesn't seem to soak up the bumps.

and the front is really unsettling.

and going over speed bumps its scraping everywhere..

afraid the 9 is getting hurt!:(

So does the harsh ride hurt the car?

Will Spoon Fix damper and springs make the ride much smoother on the road?
