It only took around an hour to remove, sand down, spray and refit and i think it makes a big difference :win:
Now on to the rest of the bay...

good work mate, did you sand it back to bare metal and then simply spray?? or did you treat the rust.
just curious.. looks good though.. :woot:

P.S once you get started you will want to sand everything down and give it a paint...

I just sanded it back to bare metal and gave it a few coats :))

Those are the kind of things that make the difference between an average and a nice taken care of bay :)

This is something I need to do to mine, now that the weather's more car cleaning inspiring

It's little stuff like this that makes me want to pull my finger out and get my bay sorted out.
Good job !

tell me bout it, i sprayed them 2 parts as well one day to take the bad look of it and before the day was out, i had every single bracket of the engine bay sprayed, the only one that wasnt done was the engine mount but its not seen anyway :naughty:

good man its looks great as everyone has said.
know what you mean its addictive...
i sprayed my wheels and before i knew it, i had sprayed my Drum's gloss black with yellow fixings .... i've gone paint mad... might do my mountain bike this weekend...:))

Nice work mate! How did you clean up the paint around the radiator stay? Look's like there's a bit of surface rust in the before pic and gone in the after pic? Look's like mine you see and I want to sort it

Cheers mate, I used some cleaning wipes that my dad got from working at Auto Windscreens, they take away the rust but if you rub too hard they can take the shine off the paint! I'll get the name of the product but I'm not sure if you can buy it.

As you said this can be very addictive.. Once you pop..
I didnt have much time today but I managed to do another piece.
This actually took along time because I had to remove my airbox and the bracket was a pain to get off but well worth the effort IMO
