it really depends how often you drive on the highway, you guys call it motorway i believe???

What tire size you running?

You mentioned your car is for a drag build in our pm's, so based on 15's with a 9k rpm (notice you have quite a free-flowing setup), you have up to around 115mph at the end of 4th with a 4.928. That should be more than enough speed for your setup. What I would recommend though is putting in a longer 1st gear in order to carry more speed when changing into 2nd.

If you are concerned about cruising rpm's, you will be doing 4100rpm @ 70mph with the 4.785 and 4200rpm @ 70mph with the 4.928. Stock is around 3700rpm.

I think there's no much of difference in rpm between 4.785 and 4.928. What other ratios do you have between 4.4 and 4.7 and what's the rpm? :nice:

theres a lot of difference moving to 4.9FD. I don't recommend it unless you have a 6speed box.

4.7 is best all rounder.

My ITR has 4.785 and I love it!

Having a 6spd makes no difference, as a 6spd boxes ratios are completely different from a 5spd (i.e they are generally even closer together)

The choice between the 4.785 and the 4.928 really just comes down to what you want from you car.

Having 6speed means drivability is better with shorter ratios gears and FD. I can't imagine my dc5 with the same FD and gear ratios without the 6th gear.

100kmph @ 5000rpm... no thanks...

just my 50cents to street cars.
