I have an EK4 an want to swap brakes to the EK9 set up.

I need to know EXACTLY what i need. There are so many choices.

I know i need

MG ZR Discs
Calipers
Carriers

I will change pads and lines at the same time.

What callipers? and do i need the carriers?

It quite confusing as many seem to have done different things inc some change there m/c also...

And i want a set up that fits perfect not all this shaving calipers and carriers bollox.... somethign to do with disc thickness i believe

Some one please help.

This is the conversion i'm doing so please don't suggest different alternatives.

you want to change your brakes to the ek9 ones? or you want to chnge them to mgzs ones im confused......
if you want mgzs ones you can have the option of twin pot honda legend calipers and cariers or the rover 620ti single pot calipers and carriers and iirc the mgzs 2.5v6 180 calipers and carriers fit straight on as well
ive done the rover 620ti conversion on mine and it works really well
as for the mc you cannge it to the 98spec itr as it is 1" its bigger and therefore pushes more fluid through= less braking effort
hope it helps if i got wat your on about lol :nice::D

I know EK9 calipers/carriers bolt straight onto EG6. No problems.
Not that this will help but I thought I'd mention it anyway...

I have to use MG disc to get my size and need the 4 stud 4 * 100 PCD. Its the caliper carrier thing. I've herd you can use

NSX
PRELUDE
EK9

And many many more......

YOu are right. the Mg uses the 4x100 pattern so the 282 set up from them will be good to use.
calipers and carriers from either a 98 spec jdm or ukdm teg will be fine aswell as the ek9 ones.
you need boththe carrier and calipers to make the brakes work.
eg if you look at your current brake set up, there will be two big chunks of metal clampng the pad to the disc ;)

Thanks mate. :nice:

Any1 know about the M/C? What effect will it have if i don't change it?

Ian you can also use the calipers from the 1.8 vti they will fit the disks as the Mg and 1.8 vti share the same size disks etc. There are alot being broken down at breakers yards so might be a cheaper option.
